Hard to believe I'd ever love a Superman theme as much as the original John Williams theme but this one is epic and gives me chills. The movie was amazing as well. Sorry the critics were dead wrong this time - this was the Superman movie I waited my whole life to see! I have watched it many times and I still love it like the first time I saw it.
@toad19717 жыл бұрын
I never said it was a great movie only because of the music and visuals - everything about the movie combined was a great experience for me - story, pacing, acting etc - of course the movie has some flaws but for me they were very minor - I just loved it throughout - I understand that many critics didn't like it but I could care less - everyone has an opinion and I consider mine just as valid - I consider myself to be pretty picky when it comes to my tastes also, disliking many of the superhero movies being produced today. Also many critics liked The Force Awakens which I found to be entertaining but ultimately disappointing on numerous levels - and again I consider my own opinion just as valid - but my bigger point is that sometimes critics have opinions that counter my own and MOS is an example of that. If you didn't like it that is cool - everyone has an opinion. Peace.
@kikodejo20027 жыл бұрын
Professional critics dont make any movie better or worse. They are just bunch of lazy frustrated "professionals" who can sway opinion of weak minded mob. Than these like to think they are clever as well if they obediently keep repeating what these parasites said.
@toad19717 жыл бұрын
Eric I can see your perspective - or at least I think I understand where you are coming from. Yes most critics try to look objectively at a film - and yes I am a lifelong comic fan and a "casual" movie goer. However I work in the visual arts with ties to illustration and visual design with education in Art and Art History as well and so I can judge many aspects of the film critically in many ways - but your point still stands on some levels - and yet to say I am "blind" is a stretch - you assume way too much without knowing me. But you have to remember that all art is ultimately made not for critics for the general public - art made for critics is not art in my opinion. Yes I was judging the film as a movie goer. I loved the film. When I said the critics were wrong, that is my subjective opinion based on many of the things critics didn't like, for example many said the film was not "fun" enough. To me the film was great fun, but perhaps not the flavor of film they expected. You said that you thought the film was "alright. Not the masterpiece that you thought it was." I think you need to read more carefully - I never said it was a masterpiece - I said that is was amazing, a great movie, and that I loved it. I would definitely not rate this movie as a masterpiece - I would rate few films as materpieces but there are a few. Anyway, this is a stupid argument. I loved the film, just voicing my opinion and support for the work that Zach Snyder gave us - for me and many others this was the best Superman film ever made. However, one of my best friends hated it and we argue about it often as friends can do. He loved Force Awakens which I thought was shallow and derivative, so there you go!
@kikodejo20027 жыл бұрын
Eric Thats where you are completely wrong "they should know better". See the movie is an art, short and often inferior way of telling the story than lets say the book but as such it has visual and sound effective means to compensate somewhat and it is by all means an ART. And as Such no critics are more qualified than anyone else to say if the movie is good or not.Because what is good for me it might not be for you and vice verse. Taste is not open for discussions they are just different and thats it.They should if they really must critic anything concentrate only on technical aspects.Mozart didnt mind what would his coleagues say about his art he just did it and it found a way to ppl who likes it. I am doer in my life and was in musical job for long time, by now I've seen that 90% of critics are usually people that have no gift of their own and therefore build their career as parasites on other people work.Before you even think what might have I said I am quit sure that your ego will tel you now to quickly think of contra argument before even really think about what I said.Now that would be sad I hope I am wrong on the last sentence.
@bravesfan45647 жыл бұрын
I feel you man. For me, this was also the Superman movie I waited my whole life to watch. I know critics didn't like it but I don't care. I loved every minute of it. I still do. It has gotten better with time. Zack Snyder and Hans Zimmer brought the Superman I always wanted to life. I walked out of the theater with my son and said "That was the Superman movie I have waited my whole life to watch." My son can't even get through the 1978 Superman movie because it is so cheesy.

Also you see me there in the pic? I'm a 43 year old business man. I grew up with Christopher Reeve. Only difference is I don't live in the past, unable to let go and pout like a child. They did re-team for BvS, but that was mainly Zack's show.

I appreciate the nostalgia of John Williams and Danny Elfman but it came off like they had no idea where to go so they just relied on old nostalgia. This soundtrack was frickin incredible as was this film, just a shame this movie may not get the proper sequel it deserved.

I remember when I first found this mix over 2 years ago...And yet it is still so good. Thanks so much for the great times listening to this. You did a great job putting this together!

Hans Zimmer is, to me at least an embodiment of the overlooked, contemporary creative genius. Cerebral, climactic and intense scores. Just impeccable.

It's very esoteric which makes movies and life intriguing. Hanz Zimmer is a master of high caliber music.

The modern superman theme begins at 22:25 it's so beautiful "Ideal of Hope" made me believe that the S meant much more, that it actually does mean hope, it just gives me chills every time nothing can compare maybe the superman animated series theme song but this theme is the new staple of superman and that's why I think it's insulting they didn't use in Justice League for superman's scene when he fights Steppenwolf or even when the movie ended when it ends with a sense of HOPE and a new age of heroes

8:16 This part of the song reflects the heavy burden bestowed onto superman.... Then @ 8:55 Imagine a frozen moment in time, a moment of complete chaos and defeat... Strength, honor, compassion, hope... Thoughts race through his mind, thoughts of her, thoughts of his parents...The human race..... @ 10:20... "Rise up... Rise once more.... and finish this..."
