Yes that will work. Just Corn flour is kind of silky but flour will work :)

For the template, could I use cardboard or do we have to use a certain kind of paper? And we could use an x-acto knife to cut out the fondant too

Rose Bud I am not sure what an x-acto knife is Rose, but for cutting fondant you don't need to have something too sharp, It is easier to use Plain Paper or baking paper, cardboard will be too stiff I think? Thanks #steveskitchen Steve
