True story I was in a military detachment on exercise in Cyprus, we were in landrovers towing trailers, going far too fast round twisting cliff roads with a 200ft drop to the sea on one side, it was night time. The driver was corporal Holland, later I found out he was nicknamed the flying dutchman because of his driving! We rounded a bend way too fast and the trailer jacknifed, pulling the landrover around with it, we totally lost control heading straight for the cliff edge, then the trailer spun us around and flipped the landrover onto its roof, flattening it because it was a soft top roof. We had both instinctively ducked into the footwell in a 'crash position.' Then we were upside down in the dark with the engine still running and fuel dripping onto the driver's face. I said 'Don't panic,' he said 'I'm not panicking' 😀Shortly after some Cypriots stopped but at first they couldn't get the door open as it had buckled. We both managed to get out with just a few scratches! I think someone up there was looking out for us that day. I was a very nervous passenger for about two years after that and never got in a vehicle with corporal Holland again. Still got the photos from after the crash. Hi Dutch if you ever read this. Hope you're still alive!
