I used to work for a stock brokerage firm. On a Friday afternoon an elderly client of mine called, saying he thought he had just been scammed, and he had given the caller his bank checking account information. Bells started going off in my head, 1 - it was late on Friday, giving the scammer all weekend to use my client’s account before the bank opened on Monday and could see what was happening in my client’s account, and 2 - my client was elderly. Scammers love the elderly. I felt so bad for my client. He was practically in tears, and so embarrassed. I made a conference call to the bank, with my client listening in. I was able to freeze the checking account and block the debit card associated with the checking account. I CANNOT stand people who target elderly people. I would like to put them in jail and throw away the key. Thank you for giving that scammer the run-around. That was hilarious !!! Keep it up !

I have a friend who got a call about a year ago from someone who said he was his grandson. He had been arrested and needed him to wire him some money for bail. My friend was only 29 years old. I don't think he was a grandfather yet. He didn't even have any children!!

My workmate sent 200$ to a "doctor" who was treating her son after his "teacher" took him there for a broken leg. The lady was too shaken to confirm the name of the injured son and she had forgotten that her son was too young to be in that grade mentioned.
