I have had to deal with the IRS 2 times, both were letters in the mail. One sure fire way to know if you are talking to a scammer (i know because i called them both times after getting a letter) is if you get the right department the first time, it took over 2 hours and when you get put on hold its like 30 minutes at least until someone picks back up.... and its always the wrong department 🤣🤣🤣

It is really sad! I was a bank teller & had an older woman ask for a certified check. I had to ask who to make it payable to. She said it was for her boyfriend that was in a royal family from another country. Her daughter was with her & trying to tell her no. I asked her to sit with me for a moment. I was trying to talk her out of it. I finally asked her what his name is & more details. I got on the internet & showed her that not anyone with that name exists & they are scamming her. I've spent a long time on the phone when those computer scammers call to tell you that your computer is in trouble and you need to log onto a site to fix it. wasting their time is the worst offense and they get so mad when, after several minutes, you call them out and tell them to F themselves.
