I think it was moreso about the lack of commonality with regards to how often he's active versus her not being interested at all. For some folks, sharing hobbies or interests can be a deal breaker. That and the strong possibility of athleticism being a big part of his identity. Since they don't know each other yet, and he lead with being active and adventurous, that gave her the cue to remove herself from the running, knowing they wouldn't be compatible in that area.
