Jennifer, I'm watching this episode right now. This story MOVED me like virtually no other, I can relate to his feelings and parts of his story...First, he was totally given WAY too much time for a "burglary" without knowing the actual story, in any event, I have spent time in jail too and found GOD there much like Jacob and I also struggle, even at the age of 60, I struggle with "self worth." I feel his PAIN, every time he receives a compliment, or acknowledgement he (I) tear up. Why does such a brave, strong man like Jacob struggle with self worth when, in this day and age, he's a hero? The question begs to be asked but I, personally haven't found an answer to a similar feeling I get that Jacob shows emotion, but, hopefully he will find the solace and emotional medicine he needs to know himself and love himself.
