Hi. That happened to me in real life when I was about 14 and someone was breaking into the house through my bedroom window. I saw the shadow of a man wearing a hat taking the screen out of the window. I tried shouting for my Mom, but it was really just raspy air. Apparently my little sister woke up and screamed and the man ran away. My step dad ran out the front door to try to find him, but he was never found. It happened to me again in 2013 during a fire. The stress and anxiety just shut down my voicebox. When Emergency Services came they kept asking if I needed assistance and I kept saying no, that I just had no voice. I’m weird I guess.

Even if it was a 100 percent accident that the child was locked in the car, why does the Defendant feel she's not responsible to pay for the window? She should also pay for the dummy keys, as the sole reason for them is to avoid HER children from being locked in the car again. A decent person would have paid out of sheer gratitude her child was safely removed from the situation.

Everybody, never give your keys (or your phone) to a little child the way this mother did. I remember one day in a library when a mother gave her keys to an 18-month-old to play with, and the kid set them on a shelf somewhere. "Abigail! Where are the keys?" What was the kid supposed to say, "In 808.02's"? The mother had to go up and down all the aisles till she found them.

FYI 1) locksmith is FREE if a child or pet is locked in the car (found this out when my daughter locked her dog in my car); 2) you don't have to have full coverage to get broken windows covered by insurance. Idk what it's called or if all insurance companies have this. I have State Farm & they DO offer this & almost everywhere will waive any deductible - including mobile glass repair companies. I pay SF like $3 a month for this coverage; 3) ALWAYS have a spare key to every vehicle. You do NOT have to have a $400 key made. You can have just a regular key to just open the doors - just a normal looking key, no key fob so no programming anything & it will NOT work for the ignition. I think I paid like $25 for the key. Also, there are mobile places for keys too. They came out to my house & made my key (idk what their service call fee is because insurance paid for that (because my key was stolen and FYI: your auto insurance will pay to have your key replaced if it was stolen!) but while they were here replacing my $350 programmed key, I also had them make me a door key - which was the only thing I had to pay for. SF paid their service fee & the $350 for my new key & no, I do NOT have full coverage).
@IHeartQuilting2
@IHeartQuilting2 5 ай бұрын
1. It's up to the locksmith if it is free or not. 2. Broken windows are covered under comprehensive. State Farm DOES waive deductible on glass replacement. Other insurance company's probably don't. 3. Yes, I had a second key made for a vehicle that had only one key. Car won't start but at least you can access it if need be.

Locksmith still charged me to unlock my car when my daughter got locked in it. Even when the only reason she got locked in was bc I ran to save a random toddler from running into the road. He didn't care. I still had to pay a hefty fee. So that's just plain not true.

This case isn’t starting right with me. Why were the kids locked up in the car in the first place? Bad parenting….

I’m assuming they gave the child the keys to comfort her and while getting in the car themselves she locked the doors. The man did say she likes hearing the noise when you press the button.

Do you know how easy it is for a child to accidentally lock themselves in the car? I'd wager not.

How about it was just an accident. I will admit I left our child in the car seat of our car for about 5 minutes. I had to bring a bunch of things in the house and left her in the car sleeping. I brought everything in and said whoops. Brought the baby in finally. 👀👀 My wife locked our 6 month old daughter in her car during the summer and it was 118 degrees outside. Her purse and phone were also in the car. Our daughter was asleep. Our neighbor was home and she called me. I calmed my wife down and called the fire dept. The fire dept was at the house in 10 minutes to unlock the car. Our daughter got a stuffed animal from the fire dept. My wife was upset about that for a damn month. I finally had to say will you give yourself a break. It was an accident. Our child was asleep the entire time. 👍🏾 We were doing laundry one time, I was sitting on the bed and heard the dryer buzzer go off. I emptied the dryer and carried the clothes back to our bedroom. Just as I was about to throw the clothes on the bed, I saw some little legs on the bed and barely managed to not throw the clothes on her. Lol 😂😂 I yelled out WTH. Don't be sneaking her onto our bed like that. She was about to be a missing person. 👀👀👀

@@ImOnAJourney Possibly. But if things he gone south the neighbor would have broken a window. She was fine sleeping her butt off. Never knew what happened until she asked me if her Mom locked her in the car. 👀👀👀👀 I was like who ??. Lol 🤣😂

She's lucky she wasn't arrested for risk of injury to a minor or endangering the welfare of a child. He could have reported her to the Police, CPS or DSS. Somebody locked the kid in the car.

If it was a genuine accident, which does happen, there's nothing the cops can do. A child has to be in a hot car for more than a certain time before it's considered a crime. The grace period to distinguish between an accident and intentionally is usually 5 minutes.
