Today we look at Roy, who admits he takes cheapness to the extreme. He reuses coffee grinds several times, takes advantage of ice cream samples and gets free refills at the movies from leftovers discovered in the trash.

Omg. Years ago when a friend told me about this tv show, THIS man was the very first episode I saw. He’s right that cinema snacks are very expensive. But to use someone’s old soda / popcorn??? 😳 What he did at that ice cream place did make me furious. 14 samples, already too much. But didn’t get anything after that? I would consider that stealing. Those samples were big too, could have filled an entire cup of ice cream. Being extremely cheap is one thing. Being a thief is a whole other issue.

The producers took care of the ice cream guy - and they never would have given out more than 1 or 2 samples if the producers hadn't told the ice cream guy he would be compensated. To film them they need to sign a release, and they wouldn't sign it if they weren't paid.

Theaters hardly make any movies selling tickets. That money goes to the studios. Movie theaters make most of their money selling snacks at the concession. That is why the snacks are ridiculously overpriced. You will also noticed that some people will try to up sell because depending on the managers, employees can get terminated for not trying to do so. Personally, I never cared if people sneak in their own food as long as they didn't make it so obvious that I have to call it out while the managers will get on my ass if I didn't. At least clean up after yourself if you are going to bring your own food though.
