Players are initially up for it under the new manager (manager bounce/honeymoon period) but then drop standards and starting downing tools 6-12 months after the manager comes in. And the same cycle repeats itself between 12-18 months under every manager where the media clamor for the next United manager to get sacked. It’s like clockwork. The players are paid far too much, far too soon, it gets to their head, and they not only lose their hunger and edge but get massive superiority complexes as a result.

Erik ten Hag is one the worst coach ever hired by Man United. The open midfield and leaky defense can be coached to do better even if you have deadwood players.
