I think it's the opposite, Ruben Amorim is too big for man united
@AllInTheGame01Күн бұрын
Surely Amorim's achievements with Sporting which is historically the 3rd best POR Team behind Benfica & Porto is more impressive & an advantage that stands him in good stead relative to Ten Hag's achievements with NED's biggest club in Ajax?!

Portugal might have even less quality outside the big 3 than the Netherlands does though.

Yep. It’s true. Pep is actually the least proven manager in the land. Not even joking.

Ten Hag ( Ajax ) destroyed Amorim ( Sporting ) twice in 2021 … thus dream on

I don’t buy this take at all. I think United would probably be too big a job for him if he was coming in to be the Fergie style total boss, but he’s not. He’s just going to coach. Ten Hag player personnel decisions was so poor that it pretty well sank him because none of the players he signed actually fit a style of play he was trying to implement. He could not handle that aspect. But Rueben won’t be asked to do that.
@luckyspursКүн бұрын
So is Amorim going to get players who fit his style or isn't he. Because if he has no choice on the matter, how will they fit his style?
@MinisterManDanКүн бұрын
@ This is an organization with alignment now with a real sporting director who helped hire him. It’s not the Glazer’s bean counters who don’t know shit from apple butter with managers constantly having adversarial relations with the front office guys. You also now have a point where you can flush the club of anyone who doesn’t need to be there. I’m skeptical guys like Rashford are as bad as they’ve played under Ten Hag because tactically they’ve been so poor, but if it’s time for him to go he can be sent away without it being a pissing contest because nobody in that building gave those big money deals to the players who may need to be sent off and can be objective about them

Style of play he was trying to implement 😂
@MinisterManDanКүн бұрын
@@thesampsoninstitute what ten hag was doing was real stupid, he’s not a good manager. But pressure can make people do dumb things I guess. I just don’t know how you spend that kind of money on Antony and give him no overlap help, or that money on a big lad CF and give him no crossers. Just asinine

The Utd chat lacked a lot of nuance and detail (eg on the upper management appointments etc). Luke contradicts himself during this. Basically says Utd should’ve gone for a big name manager, but then says big teams don’t operate in that manner anymore. Guys it’s fine to say that Amorim is a good coach and may improve Utd, but ultimately we will wait and see. Rather than jumping to conclusions before he’s even been appointed.

Luke, the fourth reason that it's good Rodri won is because he is adjacent to Kante levels of being a decent human being

The entire squad needs to be torn up and rebuilt if you want to be in the top 4 or more. Your squad is RUBBISH. No manager will change that, no tactics, no approach, no philosophy. You need to change the players, all of them.
@Fuzzy-z3vКүн бұрын
This is exactly why i stopped listening to the ramble a few years ago. Such a biased take. No mention of the good Dan Ashworth, Jason Wilcox, etc. appointments that INEOS have done.
@luckyspursКүн бұрын
Fans love to talk about backroom staff appointments like they mean something. They almost never do. It's like hyping a manager only it can never be disproved by results. The hype just stays until eventually 5 years later people turn round and ask "what did they actually do".
