@Dude00003 ай бұрын
Maybe, but it’s generally a hard slog to get there. 16 hour days, for decades, first couple decades on poor wages, unless you come from playing the game at a high level, but then you have to do all your badges, and pay for them, on £50-100,000 per year, whilst training and playing professional football under a manager who you’re probably levels above. Prem and Champ players, money’s not a problem, but the time and effort is. Most drop out of these FA coaching badges, and the UEFA ones have an even higher dropout rate, if I’m not mistaken. I’ve been to a food bank, with Covid and energy prices tipping us over the edge, so I have sympathy and empathy for that. But PL managers don’t have it easy. What’s he going to do now with his millions? Sit on the beach, driving his super cars, drinking expensive cocktails? Cos that’s not going to end well.

You can analyse the manager all you like but theres 1 reason and 1 reason only why we arent doing much better than we have since Sir Alex retired..... we are simply not clinical enough!! Look at the stats. Weve always created enough chances to win most games in the last 11 years. Personally, i find it astounding that in a time where Kane Tony and Osimhen were all openly available, we ended up with a spotty teenager nobody had heard of. We need a proven striker. Its THAT SIMPLE!! If we had a a proven striker, it would change the perception from every opponent we face. Nobody fears us BECAUSE we dont have a proven striker. Im all for the youth players playing regularly and learning their trade, but they NEED someone on the pitch that they can rely on for goals leadership and advice. I feel sorry for Hojlund, its not his fault. Even Rooney, as good as he was as a teenager, he had RVN Keane, Scholes, Giggs, etc help ease the pressure. Rasmus is expected to come straight in and lead the Manchester United line as the sole striker.... at the age of 17??? With no british football experience whatsoever??? Were on the right track, we just need to be smarter with our attacking singnings in future. That was ETH's downfall in my humble opinion

As a Danish LFC fan i think this is a sad day ... We have now lost our weekly comedic element of ETH, trying to worm his way out of trying to explain.. well anything really, even to himself

He didn't sign a new contract, they triggered a pre-existing extension to his current one so that they didn't have a manager going into their last year.

Thomas Frank is the best option for Man Utd at the moment, Man Utd should take a gamble on him

As much as I love stick to football (not as much as TRIF obviously) it would be good to see Keane get the job. Put all that moaning into practice. Would miss him on the pod though...

Rashford should have been the first to go. Get him out asap. He epitomises the failures of the club.

Sadly ETHs philosophy didn't work in the PL but aside from ETH the staff he had around him didn't enhance anything either, we got rid of Benny mcCarthy and brought in RVN where in truth we scored more goals when McCarthy was striker coach... RVN was a 6 yard scorer he can't improve these players at all

The thing people forget about Man Utd: In the last century, they have only won the title under two managers: Busby and Ferguson. There's a perception that Man Utd are a huge, magical club whose natural place is at the top of the league, but the truth is that there was never anything special about the club, only about those two managers.

Sir Alex actually did worse than Erik as it took him four and a half seasons to win his first trophy and seven seasons to win the Title , the difference nowadays is social media and the resulting constant abuse .

I agree, but I can't see that changing now. Used to laugh at Chelsea, now they all sack the manager before they have success.

Try to live with the times. Comparing everything to how it was 30 years ago is not a good strategy mate.

Fergie was able to do that because the game was very different back then, fergie was a lso building something which was clear to see from early on. ETH hasn't shown anything to suggest that the style of play or form will change. Fans will except defeat as long as there is a clear path to success being shown. Arteta is a perfect example, struggled for a while but you could see what he was aiming for.

Let's not insult Fergie by trying to compare ten hags failings to his success!
