Would've been interesting to hear Ste talk about Mainoos role in the arsenal game which was nothing like what he has described. His average touches were picked up in the RB/ Inverted RB area while AWB was pushed very far up the pitch. Almost looked like a variation of peps box midfield. Similar to how Caicedo was used at RB. Ste, i really liked the way u explained all about the game in such simple terms and yes, when u are explaining I can actually see the part of the game where we were actually doing it. Even the pressing, we don't just run to a player to press, we run in a way we block another passing path and we do it together, diverting them into an acute area where we have the control. Even if the first team played the whole game, I don't think they would have been knackered. Its like they play smart and move well and thus dont waste unnecessary energy by doing it right. Anyways, thanks for the info mate. Good watch

The next coming weeks will be crucial for EtH. Preparing the new style of play among the A squad players and the strong U21 ManUnited youngsters that have joined the USA trip is half the prep work by EtH. The other half is to push for new signings this week including another striker, another centre back, another midfielder and simultaneously cut loose Maguire, Elanga, McTominay, Fred, etc. It's clear that he has a very strategic plan for a successful season to win 4 trophies. Hence, the entire staff and management are working hard to get the plan done.

It appears that EtH is using this trip through the USA to select which U21 ManUnited youngsters can join the A squad. He stated that ManUnited will split the entire squad in 2 whereby the youngsters stay in San Diego to face Wrexham and the A squad will face Real Madrid in Houston. Very clever. In other words, he is not taking the preseason results too seriously, but is using it to mentally prepare the A squad for the season opening in the new style of play whereby the selected youngsters will be able to quickly integrate or flow themselves into the A squad. That is vision to me.

The Sancho experiment could be a stroke of genius. Unless some miracle happens glazers leave in next week new owners straight in and sign kane it looks like hojilund is gonna be our no.9 whilst I think he has huge potential and will bag us some goals. If he is our only option that won't be good for him or the team. Working Sancho into false 9, ability to deploy rashford up front garnacho on left and then hojilund gives us options and gives the lad some time to settle in before taking on the whole expectation of leading the line the whole season
@smeekle2000 Жыл бұрын
Sancho needs to get comfortable in the box and get good quickly. Ten Hag is under a lot of pressure and he clearly does not have the squad he needs. This is a Glazer's Summer. Nothing to see here!
@aaronwilliamgeorgemurphy1063 Жыл бұрын
@@smeekle2000 I respectfully disagree, despite the takeover saga it has been a productive summer so far, get no.9 over the line, Amrabat is looking likely. The gaffer is been aloud to reduce commercial commitments, getting his first choices. Squad is clearly developing, Mainoo is looking to break through. Yes had the takeover been sorted we may have been able to get another player in, maybe kane instead of of hojilund or whoever we get. ETH is doing great work, no pressure there. In regards to Sancho, he looks sharper, motivated, almost like rashford did start of last season then the form comes when confidence comes
@andilentobekomadlala5227 Жыл бұрын
@@aaronwilliamgeorgemurphy1063my question is were those his first options or his working with what his given? It's all good getting mount through the door but untd shouldn't be fighting for scraps and yes I doint know what the coaches thinking is but surely Beligham or Rice are ahead of mount and this is no English bias but to think we didn't even put a bid in is ridiculous. K I get it if the player say I want to go to a certain team eg. Benzima who we put a bid in but chose Madrid. We might look at this as a good window but we doint know if this is the coaches first options or his fighting with 1 hand tied behind his back . And yes my striker would be Victor
@aaronwilliamgeorgemurphy1063 Жыл бұрын
@@andilentobekomadlala5227 rice isn't better than mount, he is completely different to mount. Bellingham yes may be a better player, but just bidding to bid isn't good buisness operation at all, it takes time and resources to bid if you waste it on a player that either isn't your priority or you know won't come just so your bidding would be an example of bad processes just as we had with Woodward. The negotiation process has been handled very well this season we aren't having same issues as previous years as a result of the Woodward effect. When kane was clearly not viable we quickly moved on, which is suggestive that the targets so far have been managers priority. I get the pessimism but there is clearly a different feel to the club this summer and I for one am enjoying it

You got me thinking about throw-ins Ste. They're not any advantage to a team in reality. Old rule that's now defunct? How about a free kick from the touchline that has to be taken within 5 seconds of the ball being placed? Gives teams the opportunity to go short, long, back and means the opposition can't force a turnover by crowding players out. Would also stop that annoying mess that tends to surround throws in the final third. Thoughts?
