Idk, the two prominent frontrunners for the job are Amorim and Nagelsmann. Amorim will be reunited with Ugarte and I'm sure he'll love his fellow compatriots in Bruno and Dalot. Nagelsmann has previously managed de Ligt, Mazraoui, and Zirkzee. Obviously it's not an ideal situation for the club or a new manager, but there is some semblance of a foundation there with the new signings.

ETH has had the chances to improve, what's worse for the ownership. Sacking him after a season where a lot are giving multiple excuses and annoying your fan base, or giving him further time where here, no progression has been made still but shows that its wasn't really the excuses but what's happening at the club. Utd are a mixture of a ton of things going wrong but the squad was revamped to the majority, and still having issues. Many of those players could go and perform in other top 6 clubs and do fine, for some reason its not working as a team.

Because Ineos was making the signings this past season, not just ETH. If we get Amorim, then he'll have Ugarte again. If we get Nagelsmann, then he'll have Maz, de Ligt, and Zirkzee again. I doubt Ineos made the newest signings with those specific managers in mind, but the new players are Ineos signings, not ETH signings.

The managerial world is full of absolute stinkers at the moment. Not only the ones that are currently unemployed, but the ones that have big time jobs. If I was a fan of one of the top premier league teams and you asked me which of all the current manager pool (both employed and unemployed) would I want to sign as manager, I'd struggle to put together a list. You've got Pep Guardiola to choose from and that's it. I would say that Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta are up there but compared to years gone by, you would bite someone's hand for them. (Obviously, there's Marti too but he's too dedictaed to the current cause). Who can Man United get it that won't be an exact copy paste of their previous 6 managers?

ETH's tenure has been a massive disappointment. Even the so called good first season began to unravel slightly after the EFL cup win where results started to fall away. At the time I put it down to injuries, suspensions and fatigue due to playing in 4 competitions. In reality this was a sign if things to come.
