I do believe that football tournaments can play a part considering how many players were away with national teams but now it's almost about to be the end of July, players rejoining clubs for their pre-season (some being left out to be transferred) so August will definitely be huge in terms of activity being done. I'd say Villa have done really well getting Maatsen, Onana and even got Archer back from Sheffield United for a profit so it's early to say who's won the window. I'll say Yoro is definitely a good signing for United, unsure on Zirkzee atm as I've not seen him play. Lots of clubs may be working hard in the background but you are right in saying a lot of clubs have not made many moves at the moment. Regarding Aston Villa, I wouldn't say it's down to FFP entirely, Diaby did not produce as much as I'd expect given he was their club record transfer, maybe they are blessed in the wide areas? If an offer like that comes in for Saudi, you should jump at the chance, essentially selling him for the same price they bought him for a year ago, I'd say it's smart business! Onana has shown moments of class and I am wondering how he does under Emery. All this being said and I'm a Liverpool fan who's seen absolutely nothing in the window, who knows what August holds 🤞

Aston Villa window clear as of now, selling a player linked to other high end premier league clubs like Luiz in replacement for 2 proven good premier league midfielders in onana and Barkley. I think my team Southampton having only just got promoted are doing well in the transfer window. Done quite a few good signings and some more promising signs of a striker and a good left back so I think out of the promoted sides I think Southampton are probably doing the best.
