George played a 5 a side match at a testimonial at Anfield in the 90s and was given a great reception by the Kop. Some players cross the fan divide. Even less between Liverpool and United. George is a legend for every football fan. His off the field exploits only reinforced his legend. I miss him. Met him when I was a kid.

I'm a stoke city fan..yeah I know!! 🤣 but this is great, Nobby, Best, Sumerbee, these guys were class in their day and can still play here. Nobby had damaged knee's too as well as Best. Some great players over the years both clubs have had. Total respect👍🏻

Sir Matt - the ultimate legend of Old Trafford .... we owe everything to you. What a gentleman, you can see it in his body language just walking on to the pitch

I remember going to this match. I always tell people I saw George Best's last goal at Old Trafford. Sir Bobby Charlton was supposed to play but his plane was held up in Munich,of all places. After the game I walked back to Chorlton Street to get my bus and a stray dog followed me all the way. I got on the bus without him. I can still see the sad look in his eyes when we pulled off. I still wonder what happened to him.
@ClassicManUtdVideos3 жыл бұрын
That’s were Bobby was then, been wondering about his absence. That’s a good walk into town (about 4 mile), no wonder the dog was disappointed you left him behind!

I had the privilege to see all these players in their hay day being brought up in Manchester in the 60s. Great rivalry between United and City as is today but then much more emotional and physical.

Tavy@ this was great to see. Thanks for the upload big man. I never thought i would ever see this 30 years later and for the first time. Apart from the extra 3 stone and the belly best didnt really look any diffrent from 1971 with his long black hair. That was some pass from best right onto crerands foot inch perfect at 19.46. If best didnt go off the rails and kept fit and training with man utd every day he would still be able to play at age 45 in 1991 but maybe in a midfield role becouse a high ball or a ball coming at him at 80mph he could still control it with ease. And the keepy uppy he did earlier he couldv did that all day. And did you notice the way he made the ball spin back to him when he got his first touch. The man was sent by the foot balling gods! GOAT.

Gazza isnt even considerd as in the top 30 or 50 best players never mind in the top 3 like best. Gazza couldnt even tackle. His timing was ranck he even tried to break a players leg in the 1991 fa cup final and broke hes own leg lol ahaaahaaa what a prick. And were did all that fat go to. He was the fattest player i had ever saw. And that was last year lol he was to slow. Far to slow, he could dribble but had to use hes arms to hold people off becouse he wasnt a naturaly gifted player that could run dribble with out using hes fat body. He said he couldv went to man utd? A didnt thinck alex ferguson would want a fat clown. That couldnt even give a strait forward interview. When he was at rangers theres a story that when he got drunck in ally mcoists local at 2.30am he couldnt get a taxi home and walked to allys house and climnend in a window and when he was making something to eat ally came down with a baseball and was raging to find the fat man standing there and told him to get the fuck out and never do that again, and he made gazza walk all the way home about 6 or 7 mile lol gazza thought he could do and say what he wanted. Tavy@ in his peak george best was the only player i have ever seen who could take the ball in his own half and run while just going past man after man as if they wernt there. Then he could just put the ball away by either shooting in the box when theres no one left to beat or he would just go round the keeper or he could just chip it over the keeper from 22 yards out. And he could do it from either side of the pitch becouse he was two footed with brilliant pure natural balance and speed. No other player could do that on a park. I have never saw pele do it, maradona could do it but not as much and as easy as best did it, maybe becouse maradona wasnt two footed either. But what a player maradona was. Hes the second best i have saw after best, then pele is the third best. There are great players like maradona, messi, c,ronaldo, then there is the complete player like george best was.
