Those first two games of the season were so depressing, especially after the performances last season, and to be fair, you could not help but think "Here we go again." The fans were already beginning to question EtH's managerial qualities. But what I have liked about him is the fact that he is not frightened to make decisions, and make them quickly, and decisively. In my opinion, his reorganizing of the back line has been one of the major factors in us steadying the ship. Every really good team has a very solid defensive foundation, and again, in my opinion, AWB, Lindelhof, Maguire, and Shaw, are going to have a tough time getting many first team games. Varane looks a different player with Martinez alongside him and Malacia has been terrific. At last, a left-back who can defend. Dalot has been so steady as well. What a signing Eriksen has been, and what a joy to see his passing and vision. It has freed Bruno to play in his preferred number ten position. The addition of Casemiro has strengthened us and playing alongside these guys is bringing McTominay out more although I still think he is a yellow/red card waiting to happen. The signing of Antony really excites me and Sancho, Rashford. The last four games have been a breath of fresh air, and for all Arsenal's brilliant passing and movement on Sunday, they did really extend DDG as much as Arsenal's fans would have you believe. On the other side of the coin, United's finishing and speed in transformation was clinical. So pleased that Rashford took his goals so well and they should be a huge boost to his confidence enormously, And didn't Antony take his goal well? Whoever would have thought after the Brentford game that within three weeks after it, that United's supposedly " worst ever team" would have beaten the media darlings of Liverpool and Arsenal? Still a long way to go yet, but I feel that the building blocks being laid by EtH are being placed in the right way, both tactically and selection wise. It's going to take time and there will be set-backs along the way, so we must not get too carried away but be patient and stay right behind the Manager and the way HE is building HIS team!
