You need to go to Norwich City where the hotel stands on one corner of the ground. You can book a room that overlooks the pitch. My wife and I did that, watched Norwich v Middlesborough. Unfortunately I missed seeing the only goal scored because I was making a coffee for my wife. Scored by an Australian playing for the Borough. Great view of the pitch, stands and the sounds of the crowd.

In fairness to the location, you can be in town in 20 minutes on the tram which is literally 200 yards away, and being near media city is a plus point which drives prices up (plus you’re doing well to get any room in Manchester for less than £60-70 a night)
