Probably when your ancestors (grandparent/great-grandparent, etc.) immigrated here they got it easy to get citizenship so you shouldn't judge just because it was different times before. Since 1970 - 1980's there are many more hurdles to get citizenship path. In early 1960 and before a person could get a green card for just having an American born child. Just listen to the interview. He says he's been trying to stay in the US legally. He has applied for VISAS and gets denied.

That will probably never happen, so Trump can't remove him because he has nowhere to go.

You were ordered to be deported 15 years ago, but did not leave. So they locked you up in 2011, but later released under ICE supervision, and granted permission to stay and work. The port of entry is now going to tax anyone importing their goods or products into this country. That will probably never happen, so Trump can't remove him because he has nowhere to go. Although the government cant remove him, he could have "gone back" of his own volition, but chose not to. I personally have a friend that came here from Morocco. He followed all the rules. He was the kindest person you'd meet. Long story short, 10 years after he came here legally under a work permit and actually never missed a day's work, obeyed the law's, etc. and was jacked around by lawyers and the immigration office. Everything was a waste of money and time and they denied him citizenship. Though he was a Muslim he was afraid to go back to Morocco but he did. He didn't break the law and stay here.
