I worked in Kemano for 3 years in the mid 80's. Special place, great people there at the time.

This construction was a magnificent enterprise. And thank you for your diligent annotation here. I love these films. Will watch multiple times.

Wow...I worked as a surveyor on the preliminary work for the proposed Kemano Completion Project....I saw a lot of the remains of the original camp site....big Quonset huts, some with trees growing through them, others in still in usable condition still. I have been on most of the mountain tops around the valley using survey monuments set during the original construction and the country is amazing...even in min Summer there was a massive turqouise edge of an ice sheet hanging off one of the ridges behind the town. This would have been the late 1980's...the river would be thick salmon in the Fall. I also was able to tour the power plant itself....just amazing.....a huge open cavern in the mountain, with lots of halide lighting overhead, and everything from a small emergency medical room to a full equipped machine shop.

I believe it was available for school use when it was released in early 1953.

Inexhaustible? That's the thinking that screwed us up. How mighty men are, holding dominion over the earth. Faugh

That is why when humans destroy a natural habitat the army corps of engineers calls it 'reclamation'. We have re-claimed it from nature. Just because a terrible book said we have dominion over everything. The 'purchase malarkey' book as I call it, the buy bull(shit).

We do indeed have dominion over everything. We are in charge.
