Misleading title. "man with spinal cord injury runs again". No he doesn't. He's walking well with a walker.

Edit: didn’t know it was click bait lol but great job with recovery. I was paralyzed t-12 almost 4 years ago. I can run but only for like 7-10 seconds before I get tired an gotta stop an walk. Every ones different

@@604Ryanjbhows the recovery going? I have a T12 injury as well just 3 Months ago I had a car accident and got injected God bless you

@@mariomercado9513 it’s going alright I can go to the washroom on my own. But it’s very different then how i use to crap an pee😂 I can do a light Jog. I ride a bicycle and I learned how to do wheelies. It’s not fun being a paraplegic. I walk slower. I live in Vancouver Canada so we have steep hills. Haven’t got any movement in my toes still .

@@604Ryanjb Just curious how long did it take you to regain sensation & when you pee can you feel the urge to use the bathroom or has that not came back yet. Happy that you are able to move around & not stay stuck to a wheelchair keep going bro & never give up soon you will regain full sensation

That is sorry. And I thought naively that he was really running. Anyway keep going Gert-Jan from Holland. I am also learning to walk as a tetraplegic, but without a chip.

I am an outsider to science, but I'd assume based on my k-12 education that part of the reason they have such poor control and struggle to recover is that likely the nervous system forgets how to move and must be retaught. If they could get an implant into someone immediately after injury my guess is that they will have little recovery to do in comparison. It's just a hypothesis though, would love to see an actual scientist test it.

The only advice I can give this guy is Spend your life looking after his Spine straightness & posture ! He is what is called an Incomplete Quadriplegic Like myself of 50 yrs incomplete quad ! He wont run again he will only wear his shoulder joints out due to the forces generated lifting himself up and pushing his chair ! Another thing ! use a electric chair on long trips , His thoughts of becoming normal again will disappear over time as he should spend time on the above and stop be spired on by people thinking crap There not disabled and haven't a clue and usually only their for the money generated Good Luck in life oh and look after your Kidneys is a must
