When I type in exactly like you have @4:41 I keep getting the error "One or more essential parameters were not entered. Verify the required parameters, and reenter them." Help please this is the 3rd hypervisor I have tried and there is always a problem. Proxmox won't let me create a VM, ESXi says no network driver and aborts the installation and now my client machine (Win10 Pro) can't ping the Hyper-V server; this is getting old really quick.

Looks like firewall problem . Turn off windows firewall completely for the testing. If you have other firewalls between the server and client, make sure that the allow the rule s are created . if you have 4 hyper-v_19_core servers with 1-SSD & 1-HDD and one desktop client, how do you set up an hyper-converged system? you should be able to lose one server and the system must still be functional and VM on that down server must restart on another server.

You can use fail-over cluster groups for Hyper-V for that.

identified my problem at 1:06 even though I joined a workgroup, the systeminfo recognised it as a domain which alters my login credentials as domain(workgroup)\username instead of Hostname\Username Thankyou

Please check the firewall rules. Most of the authentication problem are cussed by firewall. Disable the windows firewall and test it again. If you can connect successfully then enable again and configure the rules.

I am always getting "WinRM firewall exception will not work since one of the network connection types on this machine is set to Public. Change the network connection type to either Domain or Private and try again." even after I've set the only shown network to private. Do you know what could be the issue?

After changing network connection type from public to private or domain, you need to create firewall rules to allow connection from client machine to the server.

I kept getting prompt that I don't have enough capability to perform the remote connection. what's the command" cmdkey /add:hyperv-server /user:Administrator /pass" means exactly? Does it add or activate "Administrator"user on the remote server? Can I assign another user like "hyperv-user1" to connect the remote server? Do I have to add local administrator on remote Hyper-V server with the same name like "hyperv-user1"? Thank you very much!

1- check the firewall rules 2- The network type must be set to the private. 2- winrm must be enabled 3- Remote administration must be enabled. About cmdkey parameter, cmdkey.exe /add:your_hyper-V_Server_IP_address_OR_Hostname /user:respective_user_OR_Administrator_of_Hyper-V_server /pass (password_of_Hyper-V_user) If you have created the another user with respective role, you can use that user instead of the Administrator. And this command doesn't add the user to the Hyper-V server. It stores the Hyper-V user credentials in the client machine/system.

Hi, i did exactly the same steps but when am trying to connect to the server a popup windows appear with: An error occurred while attempting to connect the server "***". Check that the Virtual Machine Management service is running and that you are authorized to connect to the server. The operation on computer failed: the winrm client cannot process the request: The WinRM client cannot process the request.... Can anyone help with that ?
