I have to constantly watch my little rescue pony. He is extremely smart and extremely naughty. Was a hand raised foal and thinks everything is a game. Also knows he can pretend to spook to get out of things like a bath. I’ve never seen a horse do all that before and it’s really hard not to laugh and inadvertently encourage him. He behaves when ignored and corrected consistently for a few days

I’m only 13, and I’ve gotten kicked by horses around five times. It just shows how much and equestrians journey can vary. My mother owns an equine rescue so I work with traumatised and scared horses. That’s probably the reasoning for all of my kicks.

Yeah usually any animal that’s been through trauma with humans are scared of all people and are more likely to defend themselves by attacking, abused dogs can be timid or even aggressive, so I don’t see how it would be any different.

Omg getting kicked hurts so bad! I was helping out at a pony club (idk if that is what it’s called, but it was basically where the advanced lesson kids help 5-10 year olds learn how to ride). Anyway I was the one of the most advanced helpers that day, so I was in charge to get one of the miniature horses to show the kids. When I was getting her out, she turned around and kicked me in the stomach. I still had to get her and bring her around to show the kids, but the trainer took her to put her away so I could rest. All is good now but it hurts so I feel ur pain❤❤❤

Yikes, i got double barreled by a rescue about a year ago and had a comically hoof shaped bruise on my leg for a few weeks - worst kick ive ever had, shame theres not a lot you can do to speed up the recovery

Omg same like I don’t have a weekend I have to go out to my horses and like ride feed them do all that stuff and I thought weekends are for resting but nope not for me 😂

Yep, any time you thought you avoided getting kicked, that horse wasn't aiming for you. I bought a kicky pony once..her aim was immaculate. Sadly she went for petfoid because although she made progress, she would panic suddenly and I could ot risk her kicking a kid

I got kicked In the thigh. It was purple for like 3 months. This happened last year. The area is still stiff.😢😮❤😊

Luckily managed a life with horses without too much injuries, just the usual standing on the tip of your boots so your pinned, the odd bite here and there, my injuries came from falls, like a broken collarbone. My worst was a broken nose & ridge, not her fault, doing a favour for someone else, holding their mare while being shod. The farrier's CB radio went off crackling and she got frightened and reared up, luckily just hoof hit me in the face! I was going around looking like batman as the bruise covered my eyes/cheeks. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🐎 Still doesn't stop me riding.....

My worst experience wasn’t a kick. It was stud trying to mount me and came down on my head. That was scary. Of course I still had to walk him back to his paddock. I was 13. I’d do it again but I’d have a tighter hold next time. We love them.

Oh no!! I’ve been kicked by my pony just recently and man, do they have some power. Yesterday that same pony dumped me while we were riding.

Get well soon! I only got kicked once in my 23 years and it was two years ago by a 4 months old foal so could be worse.. the bruise was simultaniously horrible and cute because, you know, cute baby feet😄

Ahhh ponies can be such naughty little creatures!!! I hope you’re ok and not too sore by now 🤦‍♀️ I was kicked literally in the butt (one cheek!) last month by a racehorse! It’s not fun! I found the shock of it as bad as the thing itself! Love your content & what you do! One of the loveliest equestrians I’ve seen on here so far !

Took me 30 years, but I'd only been riding for 3 of them XD Got nailed in the ribcage by a shod stallion and then proceeded to do an hour long lesson focusing on contact and collection. Thank you ADHD for the common comorbidy of hyperflexible joints. My ribcage took the impact and shifted with it instead of actually breaking. Only time I have been happy about having wiggly ribs 🤣

My first pony I had(14.2 grey connemarax) I went to the park to catch her and she kept charging me, me being 9, told my mum, who in her best example stomped into the field right up to said pony…. Who turned on a sixpence and booted my mother ..right..between..the..legs Needless to say from then on said pony was haltered and a thick carrot was used to acquire her .

Have you ever considered working a “just feed day” into your schedule? Maybe on a Sunday. Where you only go and feed, being you only feed once a day that could make things much easier for you mentally. This also, for your life, may be a totally garbage idea and if it is just discard. I just know having a day away can make a difference.

i hope you’re okay! my friday is going about the same as yours. i had a barrel racing lesson and the horse didn’t want to slow down so we went past a barrel while going a little faster than a lope and my leg took the barrel out and the barrel took a small chunk out of my leg. over 3 hours and i stopped bleeding maybe a half hour ago? hope you feel better though!

Omg my Friday was quite interesting so my instructor showed up to teach a couple of her lessons and she gets a call that her mom is in a ambulance being rushed to the hospital bc a horse beat the crap out of her kicked her right in the head and she has some bones shattered in her arm not really sure where else
