Kirk talking openly about addiction and mental health saved my life. At the time of the first podcast he did I was vomiting blood from all the cocaine and shit I was putting in my body. His story is so relatable to mine. I am now sober and I big part of helping me stay sober is this podcast. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank Kirk enough.

@louiseb6459 If I had a kid and they were that open and honest with me from a young age, I'd know I was doing a good job. So many would lie to their parents, I probably would at that age. Atleast you can be there to support them - too many young men have died feeling troubled and not able to talk to someone. So yeah, you're great.

What's motivating to you may be crippling to others.” - Victor Linao Great quote .. something that may have worked to help someone else may not be what you need to help you .. we all need to find our own way to deal with our mental health , addictions and make our way through this life .. there’s no one size fits all but at least we’re here and we’re trying 😉 another smashing pod cheers lads 💚

Hi guys. Fellow Essex boy here. I suffered with severe depression and anxiety for 25+ years due to what I now know was undiagnosed ADHD, and multiple sclerosis. Mental health issues are one of the most common symptoms for sufferers of MS, and of course ADHD. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 43 years old after chatting with someone who also has ADHD. Not knowing much about it I asked how it affected him. She. He told and me it was like looking at a mirror. I was diagnosed with MS at 40. The neurologist I was under at Southend Hospital was convinced that I’d had MS since I was around the age of 16. That diagnosis helped a lot, albeit s devastating one. But being diagnosed with ADHD, and with the medication, my depression has all but gone. I stayed single for years because of gge stigma of mental health and I didn’t want to burden anyone with my issues. Thankfully, that’s now all in the past. After being single for a long time I met my fiancée, who also has MS, one late night on a MS group based in the USA. She’d been recently diagnosed anc was in the first day of steroids to help with inflammation. She was told that she wouldn’t sleep that first night and she didn’t. I was suffering with insomnia at the time. She posted on the group at 3:30 am “it’s 3:30 am in the UK, and still no sleep.” I just happened to be awake at that time and replied that I am also in the UK and can’t sleep.. “ where are you from? I’m in Brentwood Essex.” She replied. I said “ well, I’m just down the road in Southend!” We got together for just over five years, will it together in Brentwood Essex , and are engaged to be married. Stay strong with your individual journeys guys, and keep up the good work!

Not digging you out fella, But Im a member of your FB group, you need to get more mods and admins on it, im constantly seeing posts for advice when they are at there lowest looking for help and there having to wait up to a month or weeks to get there posts approved for that much needed advice. Pull your finger out Dapper them posts need approving that day because you never know what that person is going through in that moment when there looking for help and advice, anyway love your work keep it up 💪

@menacetosobrietypodcast wow I said I wasn't digging you out and you allowed yourself to get dug out and left 2 comments calm down😂and how does my comment piss you off it was a pretty straightforward comment people are waiting ages for much needed advice when there at there lowest, and how exactly does running a group on Facebook cost money? I run and admin multiple groups one with over 80k members on Facebook and they cost fuck all to make and fuck all to manage if you use trusted members to admin or mod, Ffs imagine getting pissed off over a comment. And instead of posts needing to be on approval have them on instant approval and get the mods and admins to check the feed and delete the posts that ain't appropriate wow just wow
