It's very relaxing, I'm no big Fisher man but I enjoy going but never really become fully interested, I always wanted to fish and catch to eat, salmon or sea trout but hard to catch them, salmon is really hard to catch, 12pound is the biggest I caught.

What a genuinely nice guy he is, I remember years ago he used to work in a tackle shop on Colchester, Essex High Street, Radcliff maybe. Anyway I used to buy fishing equipment and would be served regularly by the great man in person!

The most endearing thing for me is how Neil was with Phil. I was similar when I met Neil, totally in awe. Neil was polite and courteous, as Phil was with Neil. The thing about our sport is that it's a leveller. You can meet anyone on the bank, and (mostly) you all share the same passion when fishing, and try to share and pass it on to grow our sport. Lovely video. Great attitude, Mr. Foden. Seems to be a very humble guy 👌👏🎉

So about 4 years ago, I had a lake exclusive at Nashys Church Lake, and I broke my PB with a 39lb. 10oz, when Dean the bailiff saw the photo, he showed me another photo of Phil Foden with my fish one week earlier, I’m presuming that’s his PB39lb. that he mentions in this video, he was there with his dad. Although I am 50 years older than Phil and am a fly fisherman, I am still exactly on the same wave length as him. He is such great man, such a good roll model for young lads watching this - not forgetting he’s also one of the best footballers in the world ! When he lost the big fish he just said ‘it’s off’ , no tantrum or over the top reaction. 👍👍💙
