There is an amazing sight of the lights of Manchester when your driving over from Yorkshire on the M62, As you drop down from the Pennines, just before you get to the exit for Rochdale the hills either side of the motorway part, as if a curtain is opening both sides, and before you are the lights of Manchester opening up and stretching out before your eyes. Its an amazing view, and it always make me think,,, ahh im home !!

An amazing and spectacularly filmed panorama of Manchester Skyline. I have lived overseas for 2/3 of my lifetime, but from time to time my visits back to Manchester have been filled with admiration for the way the city both preserves it's heritage and looks to the future in equal measure. My last visit in 2020 astonished me, I counted 46+ tower cranes on the horizons so it was no surprise I didn't recognize parts or this video. I always feel that people who don't know what to expect of Manchester greatly underestimate it's vibrant lifestyle and ability to impress both by day and night or it's ability to inspire adventurism or adrenaline as you partake in it's sights, sounds or opportunities to experience it's lifestyles. I'll be back once again some day soon to feed my nostalgia.

A City can not take over another City with out the Boundary Commisions approval which means no the City of Manchester will not be able to take over the City of Salford and Salford Quays
@Jomo-x6n5 ай бұрын
@@peterwilliamallen1063 Did I say the City of Manchester will take over Salford Quays and Trafford? Manchester United is in Salford but ask any Manchester United fan and they'll tell you that Manchester United is in Manchester. You are obsessed with the notion that Birmingham is bigger than Manchester. Who cares. You are entitled to your own opinion and if you think Birmingham is bigger than Manchester, so be it! Don't bother replying because I will not waste my time responding to you again.
@peterwilliamallen10635 ай бұрын
@@Jomo-x6n Yes I may have an obsesion that the City of Birmingham is larger than the City of Manchester of which it is true, The City of Birmingham has the largest City Council in Europe, it has a poulation of 1.5 million citizens and is 150 sq miles in area making it officially the Second largest City and "nd City of the UK compared to the City of Manchester with an area of 58sq milers and a pouplation of 580,000 citizens the 6th largest City in the UK, but Mancunians have this obsession of trying to make the City of Manchester larger by insisting Greater Manchester is the City of Manchester which it is not as they are twodifferent things, one is a City and the other is a Metropolitan County Council and your statement above stated" Come back in five years and the City will double in size if you include Salford Quays and Trafford, whether Manchester United Ground id in Trafford or not but Trafford is not with in the City of Manchester's Boundaries and salford Quays on in the City of Salford as is Media City these are not with in the City of Manchester and no way will the City of manchester double in size unless there is a logitamate reason for it. The City of Birmingham took over Sutton Coldfield in 1974 because the Boundary commision altered the boundary between the West Midlands County and Warwickshire County Council which bought Chelmsley wood and Sutton Coldfield from Warwickshire County Council to the West Midlands Metropoiltan county, they then assighned the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield to Birmingham enlarging the City and Chelmsley wood to Solihull Metro Town, so towns and Cities do not meracurouseley double in size over the years, in 5 years time the City of Manchester I dought would of changed one bit.

@@peterwilliamallen1063You can use technicalities as much as you want but Salford and Trafford is closer to city of Manchester than Brooklyn is to Manhattan 😂
@peterwilliamallen10632 ай бұрын
@@Bobbycastenada To Start with Salfors is a City in it's own right and can be a close as you want but the City of Salford is not a part of the City of Manchester they are two seperate Cities only connected by being with in the Metropolitan County of Greater Manchester, Trafford/Old Trafford is a part of the City of Manchester the only connection is they are both a part of the Metropolitan County of Greater Manchester

What’s amazing about dozens of hi rise buildings? Someone inform me
@BardhokNdoji10 ай бұрын
I think it is a fair question. I am pretty far to be an expert on urban development and stuff but here are my two cents. when it comes to countryside I am absolutely fine with it being preserved but when it comes to cities the only way is UP. Cities are already overpopulated and we must stop constantly expanding on the land and build high instead . But high rises build today must have a vision for the future because we can’t just start demolishing them when and if they become outdated in the next few decades. It probably cost more to demolish one of these than build. Look at the Arndale tower, build just over 4 decades ago and it looks already outdated. Sure there are people who hate them and others who admire them. Just like anything else. So yeah, I think is OK to be optimistic when you see a city rapidly developing. More living spaces, more business places, better in general.
@arthuralexander99818 ай бұрын
Unless Manchester gets more business investment in the city then all of these stunning high rise blocks won't bring the city anywhere up to London standards economically. The flats must be sold to the people of the UK, and not to wealthy overseas investors.

Shame that the new constructions are grey square Lego like buildings. Not very inventive architecture there.
@ohwhatworld58518 ай бұрын
You can put all the profound music you want over the video, the truth remains: The city is not pretty. A mishmash of buildings with zero cohesion, most of which are frankly quite unfortunate looking. I could say this about most cities. We need to make our cities look beautiful, not just fill them as densely as possible with disparate buildings. There is no reason why we can't do both.
