Manchester Metrolink Driver's Eye. Etihad Campus - Altrincham [Line B]

In this Manchester Metrolink driver's eye video. We ride on Line B (The lovely red one) from Etihad Campus to Altrincham. I managed to record Etihad Campus - Brooklands in one whole piece. When we departed Brooklands I dropped my phone whilst recording, meaning I had to get off at Timperley. Get a tram BACK to Brooklands. And start recording from Brooklands again. You may notice the change of driver at Brooklands. But the video turned out pretty well in my opinion. Let me know what you think and subscribe for more!

ARIEL MOSCHINI expectacular, that is the word of the day. when you expect something spectacular, that's what is called expectacular, especially for this great light rail ride thru centre of Manchester and out onto suburbs, and all this hard work of filming whilst moving.

Best to watch your title captions. All very well identifying the stops that the tram makes but the white lettering against a grey sky does not show up at all well. Best to use yellow lettering with black border(trim) around the letters so they show up much better.

Hi, The doors opened at every station along the route. I paused the video at stations therefore there is a jump between stopping and accelerating.

The doors are passenger controlled so the passenger has to press a button for the door to open

How do Point changes work for different destinations.

The route is entered into the box you can see on the left. The system picks up where the tram is using sensors in the ground. It knows what tram it is and where it's going. The points change based on the information the driver puts into the box so it goes the right way.

The Metrolink is slooow. So many slow sections across the whole network. It's either poor design/quality, or poor maintenance.

@@owviralavenger5915 This is because there is a transfer from KeolisAmey Metrolink Ltd.'s rails and Network Rails'. If the trams go too fast during this transition, the tram doesn't show up on either Metrolink or Network Rails' systems and it becomes a ghost tram.

@@nativenewlondoner Have your watched some of the other cab view train videos? Some of the freight train ones are so slow that even the man doing the video speeds up the footage in places! This is HST by comparison!
