Built in 1999 the class of six cars was built for the Eccles line as an improved version of the T68 class with covered couplings, protective bogie skirts and more economical motors. All that glistens is not gold as is said and the class was plagued with reliability issues resulting in their early withdrawal. To the enthusiast however they will be remembered for the shrill of the traction motors as can be heard in the video.
