Best United doc ever made. Brilliantly done. Catches the United story from the inside, how it was for the players and fans in the 70s-80s. Perfect narration too. Jim White, I think. And the soundtracks are great. Love Big Rons music. Who couldve guessed what '92 onwards would bring. From 0 titles in this era to 12 titles and 4 European Cup finals since.

Although I support another team called United - Newcastle - I've always liked Matt Busby - he seemed such a nice, gentle and genuine guy. Let God always protect Sir Matt.

Great doc. Once someone said something about winning with kids, nowdays someone says something about SAF being ruthless. Truth is in your face looking at this and listening here: it's about Manchester United - the greatest! Fan since 67-68.

We had the excitement of the docs team followed by the boredom of Dave sextons team. That was probably the reason why we got Ron Atkinson.

United had GREAT POTENTIAL in the 1980's. Although Ron Atkinson's team played some brilliant stuff, he seldom gave players a chance, preferring to burn the hole in his pocket buying players like Alan Brazil & Peter Davenport instead of Gary Lineker. Also buying Peter Beardsley and refusing to play him! Bryan Robson's shoulder was also a major headache. Liverpool had a better defence and over the course of a season, it always showed in the end. LFC had x2 defences in all positions, compared to United's x2 attacks, not such a great defence and a constantly crocked Robbo. He also let David Platt go to Crewe and a few years later he was a star of Italia 90, alongside Beardsley and Lineker and later playing for Juventus. Too many boobs & too many Carlsbergs. Then once Hughes left for Barcelona, it was 5 years of nowhere. Constantly getting beat by Derby, Norwich, Wimbledon etc etc etc etc. I stuck by them even so. I still went to school wearing the shirt, when they were in the bottom half of the table. Alex Ferguson would never have been given 4.5 years to win an FA Cup compared to Louis van Gaal's 2 years nowadays. Big Louis would have had you champions of Europe by now. But you allowed the media to bully you into sacking him. The rest is history. Jose fucking Mourinho? I even wrote an email to Manchester United FC to tell them he wasn't the right person for the job. They just ignored me. How much? All you needed to do to save yourself £362,000,000 plus the 3 years he spend fucking the whole thing up at £24.2 million per year and then sacking him before the transfer window at yet another £24 million. was listen to someone who actually knows something about the team and what makes it tick. I.e. me. And no, this isn't my real name. How much did I get? Nothing. For having the foresight and wisdom to see that he was going to be THE WRONG MAN. AND having the decency to actually write to you and tell you. £425,000,000 later and blah. Wasting my time. I'd be as well talking to a brick wall.

Good God ! No to Brian Clough ???? Well...its a thought ..we'd have been in the Clough era and maybe not the Fergie era ??? One things for sure Cloughie would have won the European cup many, many times !!!

Peter Taylor needed to come too. But they fell out by 81. Clough was never the same.

What utter nonsense . Tommy Doc brought us back from a team that was going to live on it`s History We could have ended up like a mid table Aston Villa He gave us wonderful flair attacking football and you had to get there early to get in the ground Everyone wanted to watch his team I know I was there . Utd were the first team in the 2nd Division to be shown on match of the day Tommy Doc`s team is the reason why I still watch and support the best club in the world
@mrkipling22015 жыл бұрын
Tommy docs team played exciting, attacking football. 4-2-4 and score more than the other team.
