I think one of the main issues at man united is that we go 2 steps back, call for the manager's head, get a new manager and sign some players, take one step forward, celebrate and glorify that one step to the point where we go another 2 steps back. The top level management has to make a blue print on "This is how Man Utd are going to play football". Every time a new manager comes in its new ideas that requires 6 new signings for it to start working, and eventually not working. Look at Brighton: The last 3 managers has almost always played a 4-2-3-1 with the same principals. Liverpool also hired Slot due to how similar he was too Klopp in terms of pressing, although with a bit more control.

The main unavoidable issue with the current United squad is that its a team full of the most absolute average players (with some dipping into below average) who are being paid like they're top class superstars. This will keep happening to United until they hire a top level proven manager in the peak of his powers. Managing club of that size has a lot of pressure that these managers cant handle. If you get a manager with 'hype' like Amorim or Ten Hag, that wears off quickly. If you get a manager past his prime like Mourinho or Van Gaal, they wont know how to deal with a modern grouo of players. They need a top coach, Gasperini, Inzaghi, Gallardo, De Zerbi, Scaloni.. that type. Many clubs are run horribly and still have decent results on the pitch, its not always the board
