As a United fan watching that game I thought Chelsea were going to win it in the second half. I've always believed Ferdinand wasn't as great as many people said he was. Yes, he was good on the ball but for his height he was poor in the air. He needed a tough no-nonsense partner like Vidic or Terry. Not one for the physical battles.

Ah, the golden years of United, EPL, and Cristiano! This video brings me such a feeling of nostalgia! Football was so, so much better back then than today! More spontaneous without stupid VAR that only makes things more confusing and messy, tougher, with tougher, real players, who almost all had street origins (ironically, except Messi who spent the majority of his youth in Barca academy), and that just doesn't happen anymore (and it's a shame because footballers with street education and upbringing are the most magical players), with epic rivalries, and much better quality of top leagues than today. Also, Cristiano was just brilliant, he was a brilliant winger during his first spell at United, and he was a more mature, brilliant winger for a few years at Real Madrid. And what pisses me off is how so many brain-dead people now think he was just a striker. It's so infuriating how people who literally have no idea about this game, the game's history, and Cristiano's history, talk nonsense about him on podcasts, in the interviews, etc. And what's worse, there are some bitter ex-teammates of Cristiano who talk nonsense too (yes, looking at you Rooney - you are a pathetic, fat, jealous twat). Cristiano is a giant in this sport and what he has done in his entire career is absolutely spectacular! It's actually amazing that he is still going at 39. I mean, he is almost 40, and he still has amazing stats in Saudi, and Saudi proved much better league than MLS where Messi plays, we have seen that when Saudi teams tore apart Inter Miami in a few matches.

JT probably wishes he couldn't reach that ball now 😂

True and also yeah JohnTerry's slip made up for VanDerSar's slip for Chelsea's equaliser an already lucky goal without that given not just the timing of the goal against the run of play on the stroke of half-time etc...but the goal itself the way multiple deflections gave Lampard a 1on1 but VanDerSar's saved 1on1 with Lampard before namely 1-0 at OldTrafford Nov2005 & I believe he did the same the following season but his slip in CL final 08 made it an open goal. ManUtd created all their own chances not just in the first half which gave them a goal and multiple golden opportunities to kill the game but also after Chelsea gained momentum because of all the fortune they'd had in the game to somehow be level, their best chances still apart from one Lampard on the woodwork (which had made up for his lucky goal) were all long hopeful shots like first half, where as ManUtd still had the best chance of extra-time and that was another well worked move by ManUtd decent play by Evra who gave Giggs an open goal but for JTerry's head on the goal-line (Giggs still should've given Terry no chance he had the whole goal to aim at, but at least it set up the poetic justice in the shootout).
