From a Liverpool fan. The incident was devastating in itself. Sir Matt Busby was a player for us and the players lost on that night were a pride of the nation at that time. Rest in Peace the Busby babes

Big respect to City fans who kept their word, the minute silence was when where a city united. The support from Both Manchester City and Real Madrid at the time will not be forgotten. I love how both teams and fans stood side by side then. I thank City fans for showing respect. This is from a Manchester United fan. For me Manchester is the best city in world and it should be the capital of football.

One cold and bitter Thursday in Munich, Germany, Eight great football stalwarts conceded victory, Eight men will never play again who met destruction there, The flowers of English football, the flowers of Manchester Matt Busby’s boys were flying, returning from Belgrade, This great United family, all masters of their trade, The pilot of the aircraft, the skipper Captain Thain, Three times they tried to take off and twice turned back again. The third time down the runaway disaster followed close, There was slush upon that runaway and the aircraft never rose, It ploughed into the marshy ground, it broke, it overturned. And eight of the team were killed as the blazing wreckage burned. Roger Byrne and Tommy Taylor who were capped for England’s side. And Ireland’s Billy Whelan and England’s Geoff Bent died, Mark Jones and Eddie Colman, and David Pegg also, They all lost their lives as it ploughed on through the snow. Big Duncan he went too, with an injury to his brain, And Ireland’s brave Jack Blanchflower will never play again, The great Matt Busby lay there, the father of his team Three long months passed by before he saw his team again. The trainer, coach and secretary, and a member of the crew, Also eight sporting journalists who with United flew, and one of them Big Swifty, who we will ne’er forget, the finest English ‘keeper that ever graced the net. Oh, England’s finest football team its record truly great, its proud successes mocked by a cruel turn of fate. Eight men will never play again, who met destruction there, the flowers of English football, the flowers of Manchester

I'm a Man City fan and that comment you posted, says it all about you. People who chant about the Munich air disaster, are the ones who lack intelligence and are ignorant. Some people in that tragic accident were also former Man City players. I hate Man United with a passion, but disrespecting a tragedy is taking it to far. I'm an Arsenal fan, and I must say I have nothing but respect for the way Man Utd paid tribute to that tragedy. The plain kits reminded everyone I spoke to of a time when football was pure, and about the game, not the names on the back of the shirt or the sponsors on the front. In a time when the FA wants to ruin our league and take it all over the world, United and City have actually reminded me what football's supposed to be about

I was a HUGELY proud City fan this day. To me, to this very day, the reds and blues are of the same town. Any bitterness is purely trivial over the years, due to our bad fortunes mostly, as City fans. But give me United over Liverpool any day of the week. Frank Swift, our most legendary goalkeeper (Bert Trautman close second) also died during the Munich crash. Who can forget how the reds borrowed Maine Road (for a fee) after World War 2? Or how my grandad supported both Manchester teams, and went to watch both at home, whenever he could? United fans, please remember, that the absolute scumbags who sing about Munich from our end of the field, are ALWAYS a minority. CTID
