My thinking is, yes we lost the CB cover but if we do sign a proper attacking wing-back on the left side could we maybe shift Mitchell to be our left sided CB in the 3 until we can get better cover then Lerma? Then we can see about getting additional cover at CB next year if Riad doesn't look like he'll be 100% by next season

I agree that early signings are good. I believe the board would too. Why would they not? The later the purchase the more the price, however… none seam to take into account the selling team can hold out pushing a desperate teams price up. I did read were eyeing up the sporting no.10 and a rb for end of season. Along with a CD We will see

Their pen incident shouldn't have even come to that , Mitchell let ball drop in first instance should've headed away, then we kick ball against hughes then lacroix went to ball but got nicked ahead of him. Just a panic moment than keeping it calm and steady in the moment.

Look around the league. Couple teams have maximum 2 signings. Most just 1. Lots of loan recalls. No marquee signings anywhere. Esse is possibly the most exciting signing of the whole window so far. Last season we were the biggest spenders in the jan window. Less than 30mill for Wharton and Munoz. There are about 2 viable targets in world football for Palace at LWB, if that. Everyone team needs key upgrades and cover. There's a clear lack of available players at every level.

@frasier: it was written in some newspapers here in Austria and also in Germany. IF RB Leipzig and Marco Rose split in the summer - then RB Leipzig would have the opportunity to choose between Roger Schmidt and Oliver Glaser... Glasner and Schmidt both have a history with Red Bull Salzburg etc.. Thought experiment along the lines of what would happen if...
