I love the bit where while the monster's about to smash the ship, Paz and Axe carry Grogu to safety. it's a small moment but it's super wholesome. like they recognize him as a Mandalorian foundling. Din didn't even need to tell anyone to get him outta there, they Know to protect that kid at All costs

That one thing make me think that he is not a traitor..no hesitation, he immediately grabbed one arm and nodded to Paz.. and he could only save himself. And not to mention that in the previous episode he could simply force the lovers apart, without peacefull talk and a gentle approach in total.

I think the cloning vats aren’t attempts at cloning Palpatine/Snoke, but rather an attempt for Gideon to clone himself. He said the Dark Trooper armor was filled with “me”. I think he meant that not only in that specific situation, but also… all Dark Troopers. He’s trying to clone himself like Kamino cloned Jengo Fett to make the original clones

I'm leaning toward Axe being the spy. The Armourer leaves with the survivors, who they ran into by chance, which is unlikely to have been planned ahead of time. Axe leaves during the attack, which could have easily been planned. plus, he is quick to volunteer to leave, as opposed to fighting, like most mandalorians.

The surviving Mandos on the planet could be the spies. Gideon's base didn't appear overnight. How could they miss all the construction? Tie interceptors and Bombers arriving and departing. They led Bo, Paz and Din right to it.

I was curious how Moff Gideon knew Bo- Katan had possession of the Dark Saber? By his account wouldn't he had thought Din Jarin had it. So since the people to witness that passing of the Saber were the Night Owls I believe its one of them who could be the second spy.

when Gideon lands, he says to his troops to disarm Din, and in that moment its clear Din doesn't have the DarkSaber, so he wouldve assumed that Din had given it to Bo-Katan

But how does Din know about that conversation, he wasn't there. Honestly he learned it from Din himself, or that should be what it is. Din got between Cobb Vanth and Tuskens in season 2 episode 2 to stop them from fighting each other. And grogu was right there to see it.

I have to say I don’t think Gideon was trying to clone palpatine, he always talks about building his army and his agenda. I feel like he’s trying to clone some sort of stronger entity to build his army from so he’s unstoppable. He just seems like he’s more out for himself then the greater cause

He said he wanted to join what clones, mandos, and jedi had to offer plus he said “the best part is it has me in it” when talking about the darktrooper. So I believe he is trying to clone an army of force sensitive versions of himself covered in beskar armor.

Along with the fact hux is the one focused on cloning with sidious, moff is most likely focused on cloning himself we see how he tampers with it, hux suspects this and gets a step ahead which is why sidious is a step ahead of snoke , if you ask me snoke knew nothing of sidious being alive, he allowed moff to think he succeeded in his plan and his Version of the empire , snoke isn’t a failed papaltine he is a result of giddeons self cloning experiment rebuilding the empire just for sidious to take it back from the shadows without him even knowing, snoke seen the rise and fall, I think it could be giddeon if it is it saves the terrible sequel trilogy just a little bit

Moff Gideon rescued Moff Gideon from the first republic shuttle. His obsession with cloning has been about cloning himself so he can be inside every Dark Trooper suit. With that in mind, he will not be completely killed off in the next episode.

Armorer is also highly suspect because to forge Beskar armor you need to know how to do it properly. The Mandalorian method for forging beskar was a closely guarded secret, a skill passed on through generations to keep ancient armor intact and impervious.

I don't think Gideon is trying to beat Hux to resurrect Palpatine. Like Pershing said in his speech, Gideon is trying to use the cloning research to amass his own power. He's probably testing a high m-count formula on clones of himself to perfect it so he can give himself force sensitivity.

“The Spies” could also be a meta-reference to the biblical story of the 12 spies who went into the land of Canaan to spy out the land before the people settled there. John and Dave seem to be pulling a lot from the biblical story as a reference for the Mandalorians. They’re scattered and exiled after the destruction of their home, and long to return and reclaim their ancient way of life. Kind of a cool contrast to the Jedi, which heavily reference eastern religion/culture.

I believe in addition to alluding there is a second spy, the title could also be referring to the scouting party as a whole. Especially this season, we've seen plenty of references of the mandalorians likening them to Israel of the Bible. When scouting out the promised land of Canaan, their ancestorial homeland, the Israelites sent twelve spies to spy out the land. In the scouting party, we see twelve mandalorians (excluding Grogu). Just a thought.

Two things i noticed is that the animals on the spits looks like those birds they rescued. Their heads pointed to the left and their wings look like they are tied up like a rotisserie chicken. The other thing is the the two mandos that was on the sail ship lead them directly to Moff. I think the spies were these two and the wounded was the Mandolorians that resisted Moff when he returned and they had them held hostage and just gave the wounded back to sell the trick.

The Dark Saber isn't some end all be all. Din defeated him before (with the help of Luke of course). Bo had it and could do nothing but retreat as well. Moff doesn't want to kill Din because he had the chance to do so

In the heat of the moment, it seemed like a good idea - but if you think about it, it had literally no reason to work. The fighting scene against Beskar Stormtroopers reminded me of John Wick fighting scenes with the bullet proof suits or armored soldiers with bullet proof armor where John also had to get close and shoot the enemies in the gap of their suits/armor. No, it’s Axe. And not just Axe. I think a good portion of Bo’s old crew are too. I only say that because Gideon’s troopers are pretty proficient with those Mandalorian armor and weapons. Axe also flew away, and not a single trooper followed or shot at him.

Because they needed to get help as Din said. Obviously they assumed the ship would return once the wounded were safe? I mean how do they even leave if the ship doesn't return? You can't communicate of scan because of the interference from the previous episodes.

I believe that Gideon's helmet horns are more meant to represent something more akin to a crown that some one like a king or queen would wear. The spikes are on all four sides of his helmet. Gideon seems to be quiet power hungry, like most other imperials, he wants to be the ruler of mandalore by taking the Dark Saber, and he does not believe in Thrawn's "Grand Plan". All he wants is take all of this power for himself.

I find it interesting we see that the mandalorian pirates have jetpacks, yet the way we see them taken out when they're ambushed is by getting pushed off the side down into the cave, and we never see them jetpack back up.

I think the spy is Axe, as the Armourer doesn't have any motive to betray the Mandalorians. Whereas Axe has motive to be the spy (most likely money and status). I'm so hyped for the Season Finale next week.

I honestly think Gideon might be a Mandalorian, he is obsessed with the darksaber, he led the charge to take over Mandalore for the imperials, the horns on his helmet reminiscent of Darth Maul's deathwatch, and he put the iron heart in his armor which is sacred to Mandalorians
