It's tough to see that the Transformers franchise is losing steam. I think it could help if they double down on the sci-fi / space aspects of the lore, because their live action movies are always way too Earth-based. In the original animated movie they are in space for majority of the movie and they still have humans helping them out. I don't see why they can't go that route and just have a few humans helping them out in space. That way they can travel back to Cybertron or other planets and still have that human aspect. And put more popular Autobots / Decepticons at the forefront that fans are gonna recognize

Concerning the Oscars… clearly someone at the Oscars specifically set out to find a reason to make the movie ineligible. This was the loophole they found. Common sense doesn’t matter if the goal is to keep them out by any means possible.
