Look up Deborah Chow and all what she did prior to the Kenobi series, a load of crap, women talking movies nobody but pretentious woke film festival ppl care about, directed a couple eps of CW shows, one episode of Mr.Robot and two episodes of Mando season 1. She never did anything of actual merit and bounced around everywhere. As serviceable a tv director as any other rando but not the type of creative you need or want on a Star Wars property (especially in a head position). The showrunner on Kenobi was Joby Harold, he's a producer and also not a creative that actually knows Star Wars. Look up his wikipedia. They got scared of the woke mob and stripped Chris D'Elia of the role that woulda made the movie watchable ruining his big break over some infidelity (they are all garbage-people that sleep around, like they have any moral superiority whatsoever) and replaced him with the insufferable Tig Notaro because she's a woman/lesbian (it definitely wasn't due to her comedic chops smh she is right up there with Hannah Gadsby when it comes to "clapter")

30 Days and Collateral are both goated. If Stuart is reading this i want you to know i rewatch them with my dad every year. Also i'm one of the few that sees Vincent as a protagonist. If you take him at his word and don't make assumptions in bad faith (as one should) he was trying to help Max and dispel his delusions to make him more proactive with his life. He's not a sociopath. He demonstrates empathy and would have left Max alive at the end had he grew some balls. The whole film reminds me of the Raymond K. Hessel scene in Fight Club. You either LIVE...or you're already dead... Collateral changed my life and made me a better man. I don't blame others for my problems, i'm keenly aware of that type of "wishing on a star" delusional safety blanket that causes ppl to be idle and complacent like that and i tell ppl plainly when i detect it and help motivate them to do the things that need doing instead of putting it off because of that movie and SOOO many great things have happened in my life as a direct result of that mindset i couldn't begin to list them all. They never would have happened otherwise and i'd be single locked in a room playing video games getting fatter and stupider otherwise. Dude the fact that Stuart suggested ideas for Vader Episode 2 character motives just shows he's a down to earth guy and happy to discuss stories for no personal gain. Man, can't believe Disney robbed us of him.
@DaneBryantFrazierАй бұрын
14:00 Man!! This would have been Obi-Wan's second chance to train a kid. Seeing the flashbacks of Anakin while Luke gets mad makes him worry yet again because he doesn't want to fail him again like he did Anakin. And at the end of Star Wars, he's there as a force ghost seeing Luke accomplish the mission and now knowing that he was successful with his training of Luke AND resurrecting Anakin. Why didn't Disney work with this guy??
@indestructibleobjectАй бұрын
Fear. Solo didn't do well, and instead of being insightful and taking responsibility for Solo's poor performance (the story wasn't that good, it wasn't really the story people wanted, etc.) they essentially blamed it on the fans; "Oh, people don't want to see a movie about this character because they know he survives." That fear led them to cancel the Obi-Wan movie, and convince themselves that people wanted entirely new characters. And look where that's got them. Really just a lot of terrible, terrible decision making at the corporate level.

We were robbed !!! It’s so true how much attention to detail the Disney Star Wars projects are lacking. This guy really knows his stuff and wrote tasteful callbacks while maintaining the esthetic of what Star Wars is. Disney Star Wars just doesn’t have the same feel and it’s feels so surreal to watch these new projects and somehow connect them the original movies.

Shows how bad things are at Disney that they can't see a good script when it's in their lap and don't appreciate when a writer has passion. I think from Stuarts short overview of the plot we can see it ties in to the right places in Star Wars. What a shame his vision has been lost to the current culture at Disney.

It's crazy to think that Rian Johnson's "The Last Jedi" caused Solo to bomb, which resulted in all SW movie plans being scrapped, including this Kenobi trilogy. Absolute tragedy. That bonehead's movie caused ripple effects in the franchise which are still felt today. I agree SW would be in a different place had this trilogy (or even just 1 movie) been made.
