i am kinda surprised how many seem to be fine with more controlling behaviour (to a certain extent) - really interesting to hear. Other than that I think the complaint about "women don't say what they mean" etc pp. always leaves me wondering...because in my experience, if you do not act like that, and if you are a 'straight shooter' as a woman, you are on the flipside immediately seen as rude, not 'womanly' enough, and too aggressive. So i think there is a huge societal component as to why a lot of (straight) women therefore act or speak in a more indirect way. In any way, super helpful and interesting video, 谢谢您!
@r6guy Жыл бұрын
I don't think that's what they are saying. Like with western women, they may not be straight shooters but they will not try to hide how they are feeling just so they can get more angry at you. You will know right away if she is angry at you, at least from the perspective of an Eastern man who is used to dealing with Eastern women.
@citoyenneteavanttout7273 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for stating facts. Men will demand that a woman be direct, and some even go all the way to speculating that women being agreeable is the reason why they get payed less/don't advance in their careers. But the minute a woman speaks up/is disagreeable, they'd say she's rude, loud, unhinged, emasculating 😅. And WORSE, if they are victims of assault because of that (the way the four women who were beaten incident) they are blamed for being too blunt and reckless. The pattern upon which men lean their reasoning will never cease to amaze me with how paradoxal it is. Take gor example : they say women get payed less because they work less. then another day they'd be saying feminism is pushed upon women to stop them from being mothers so the corporate has cheap labor, because apparently women work more for less (too agreaable) 😅😅😅 I don't know which one to trust
@citoyenneteavanttout7273 Жыл бұрын
@@r6guyAs an eastern man, you should know already that, in contrast with the west, women face severe consequences when they are blunt and disagreeable or when they don't stir the the pot. If you are too uncensitive to these women's trouble when you know pretty damn well that the eastern word is too harsh to women, you should tone it down about it. Because in the east most women have either nagging or their tears to express their frustration and you also are bothered by that.
@r6guy Жыл бұрын
@@citoyenneteavanttout7273 are you from the 1980s? Or are you a western man? Because as someone who has lived in both places, the only people I see living in fear are western women. Fear of going out at night by themselves, fear of strangers walking down the street whenever, fear of sexual assault or random violence. The type of violence against women by men in the west that happen to people I've known would have made national headlines in the east. But in the west it's just another weekend, another woman among countless others who suffer the same violence that is so common it doesn't even make the news. They don't even feel the need to report to police because the police wouldn't care. Please, the eastern world is not harsh on women, it is harsh on the young.
@citoyenneteavanttout7273 Жыл бұрын
@r6guy If you didn't witness the fear women in the east face, you were not paying attention my dear. And I speak for facts. Stop spreaking in the behalf of people you're not representative of. Not because women in the east usually are too afraid to speak, and guess what, are not taken seriously unless they're literally killed, that it never happened. I have yet to know a woman that had never been beaten to blue at least once by an intimate partner (father/husband/brother). Yet they're not running the streets talking about it, because when they do people ask them what they did to deserve that, enabeling passive agressive behavior. So please STFU about things you know shit about. I am an eastern woman fucking ass goof.

When a woman often tells you she is angry and why, she is accused of being difficult or combative, demanding, or headstrong.

I dont think so. Most guys would like the woman more if she did. Because it shows that the woman is very mature and reasonable. Women sometimes cant express what they want, or confused with what they want because “directness” was less entrenched into our social upbringing across many cultures. Subtlety, reading emotions, femininity, grace, meekness, submission and social interaction are our imposed training for most of our formative years, because for the longest time these skills were a matter of survival-and then by the time we were older, modern day life told us all of a sudden to be independent, decisive, assertive, strong which is good but habits and culture instinctively lives. Its confusing for all genders how social roles were deconstructed for short period of time. Moreover, lets not delude ourselves that men dont do it. They do it for mostly another reason- pride- a virtue that was ingrained in them also by culture. I guy may deep down want to cling to a girl, express his caring love or vulnerability but he fears he would look less manly. Or he may not pursue a girl because he thinks he is not “man enough” to provide, usually financially, but in reality he can depending on the girls personality.

"Subtlety, reading emotions, femininity, grace, meekness, submission" except girls do not display any of these virtues in the first place. you are speaking like you are doing some introspection but what i really see is a lack of grasp in reality and self awareness. this all sounds like a bs excuse to me. girls are very much direct when it comes to things that they believe is for their own benefit. indirect is when they feel wronged, when they feel that their partner is lacking but they are aware that it was not done on purpose. it is a form of emotional manipulation, guilt tripping, gaslighting. for the satisfaction that comes when the guy "realizes" his mistake and prostrates himself to her for it.

I bought the wrong combination of flowers once and she didn't speak to me all week. Finally I got an all day lecture/berating. Apparently I embarrassed her and mortified her in public w/ my ignorance. I could understand how this could upset her And- I'm not Chinese. or a girl. How TF am I supposed to know wtf the flowers mean or even know their culture's unspoken rules?? Many other times I was expected to somehow know sh*t I didn't know. If I helped clean, I was doing something wrong. I can see why girls ask a ton of questions and have all kinds of tests now. I guess I need to do the same? it’s been there since ancient time. Lets say you have a daughter and a son, when the daughter get married, you get a dowry. Then when the son gets married, you pay daughter-in-law’s family a dowry. But if you got two sons, then bad luck for you. It’s just that situation gets much worse nowadays, where dowry becomes very hefty, and bride expects everything from house to car ready for the marriage, which young male typically cannot afford thus becomes a huge financial burden to their parents. This is the reason why many people prefer having a girl instead of a boy because life will be much easier.

Its funny to me that straight men here in the USA means he's not gay, its funny that they think that others feeling should be controlled by others when its your feeling controlled by yourself not others, and the whole when asked what is wrong and you suppose to be a mind reader I find mind-blowing. My way to let them know how it feels is to reverse it, get mad/upset, and when they ask say nothing make them read your mind and when they can't, you tell them when the shoe on the other foot makes it hard to walk right.
