New super hard and deep zoom into Mandelbrot set. Recursives Julia sets with 8 minibrots ! and the last minibrot need 10 billions of iterations to be correctly defined. Realized with Kalles Fraktaler 2.15.5

This is nuts. I remember 13 years ago, the "deepest mandelbrot zoom ever" was magnification 10^275 and that was impressive, possibly taking months to render. This zoom is, as of my comment, half a year ago and is magnification 10^4141. To say that 10^275 zoom doesn't even scratch the surface is an understatement. This zoom is 10^3866 or 3866 orders of magnitude deeper than that one was, it completely *vanishes* the old one into the rounding error. To put that in perspective, imagine one dollar ($1.00) disappearing from $1...0.00 dollars, where the ... is 3866 zeros in a row. Not to mention PC hardware has gotten very good now and could probably spit this render out in a few days or couple weeks with some beefy CPUs.

Amazing zoom. My question is how can you achieve something like this? Is it made using a super computer or is it done thanks to an amazingly efficient algorithm? I would love to know more about this, thank you fractal universe
@fractaluniverse67932 жыл бұрын
I made this with the japanese supercomputer Fugaku and its 442 petaflops and it took 10 minutes. No. I actually used the experimental algorithm Nanomb2 in Kalles Fraktaler with a cpu AMD ryzen 7. It worked at this location but it's glitchy at some different locations than zoom into recursive minibrot and julia sets.

Really awesome trip. Is there an explanation why by the end of the journey the circle like shapes get more dense the deeper you go? Is this something to do with rounding or something?
@larsdahl5528 Жыл бұрын
It is the way the Mandlebrot set behaves. When zooming in structures multiply. It is most easy to see in the first 23 seconds. First, we see one spike ("The Spike" area of the Mandlebrot set), then at 15 seconds it becomes two ("The line" area of the Mandlebrot set.), at 19 seconds in it becomes four and looks like a cross, or plus sign. At 21 seconds in it become an eightfold symmetry, and at 22 seconds in it becomes sixteenfold, 23 seconds in the "mini-brot" that is the center of the symmetry become visible. This way the pattern around a "mini-brot" do mulitply in that 1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 8 -> 16 -> 32 -> 64 -> 128 -> etc. fashion. The higher that symmetry number gets the more it looks like circles.
@Entertainment-night Жыл бұрын
Thanks Lars, that makes perfect sense. The more we zoom the more dense the repetitions become.

The Mandelbrot Set is the set of complex numbers for which a certain function does not diverge. Pick any two pixels in any frame of this video. Infinite complex numbers lie between them. So you can keep zooming in forever, limited only by how precisely you can keep track of very small differences between numbers, and how much computing power you have check if a given point in the complex plane diverges.
