When I was suicidal decades ago, I wrestled constantly with all the reasons not to do it, but finally I heard the Lord break through with this truth: "These thoughts aren't coming from Me, so from whom do you think they coming???" Satan is a deceiver and destroyer, and this revelation IMMEDIATELY evaporated my self-destructive thoughts. You would think it's a "duh" moment that any believer would know automatically, but in the haze of deep deep depression and hopelessness, at least for me it never occurred to me until that moment that the enemy of my soul was behind it. Ever since then, whenever these Ultimate Quitter thoughts buzz around my head, I say ALOUD "Oh no you don't, Lucifer, you're not gonna win this one! The Blood of Jesus has saved me and you will NEVER lure me down that path again!" Now I'm 75 and look back and see all of the damage such an act would have done and all the blessings I would have missed (my grandson, for one!), and I rejoice that Jesus intervened in a miraculous way for me.

TBH…. I didn’t know a lot about Mandisa however the outpouring LOVE she has received since her passing has prompted me to look more deeply. Being a MH counselor she spoke so much positivity and awareness regarding depression. I’m surprised I haven’t heard about her before. What I will say since her passing, MANDISA is speaking loud. You hear me, she is touching souls after her passing . I’ve been watching her videos and listening to her music. I also have purchased her book. I believe Mandisa will be remembered as a positive example for many years to come. ❤❤❤

It came on the boom box I got for her & had set on K-Love. And brought worship CDs for her. When I hear it now, I always think of that moment in time.... Omg I can’t believe how much I have in common with Mandisa.! Cptsd is a very difficult thing to deal with as an adult. When one has shame and sexual abuse as a child, shame tells us that there is something intrinsically wrong with us and we will never be perfect no matter how amazing people think we are. And the sexual abuse messes up our personal relationships. I feel the pain you lived with Mandisa. I kept thinking that I was alone in my experience and struggling. You gave me a wonderful gift by sharing. Now you are at peace. ❤️

My heart goes out to mandisa. I’m someone who has struggled with depression too. I know a lot of my depression was actually brought worse by prescribed medication. I too began listening to the voice of the enemy. “Nobody loves you”- “Nobody cares about you, just end it all”- Lies. All lies. I understand the suicidal thoughts. I’m sorry that she felt so hopeless about her situation that she couldn’t take the pain anymore. Jesus understands. I know that as a catholic, I was taught this behavior is a mortal sin- Wrong. I am heart broken that she is gone, but are joyful that she isn't suffering anymore, and being that Mandisa was so grief stricken over the loss of her best friend, maybe that was God's reasoning for taking her. He granted that mercy and grace so she didn't have to miss her anymore! Just listen in her voice and look at the brightness in her face whenever Disa speaks about her best friend! As Sister's in Christ, the bond that they had was broken physically but spiritually they were inseparable! Though mercy by death sounds crazy to many, being that Disa missed her best friend so much, maybe she cried out to Him to bring her home so she didn't have to miss her any longer! Wow in the video above Mandisa is so transparent about what led up to her 3 year crisis of faith & contemplating suicide..,.after God pulled her out of that she declared that Psalm 40 is what she prayed will be her legacy ! Psalm 40 ~ 1. I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord;
And He inclined to me and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up out of a horrible pit [of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay,
 And He set my feet upon a rock, steadying my footsteps and establishing my path. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear [with great reverence]
 And will trust confidently in the Lord. Praying now that if God forbid her cause of death was suicide that the devil won’t try to rob others of their faith & hope …& that instead her very real battles aren’t uncommon to anyone especially believers ! And that her life & her Christian music ministry will be one of an OVERCOMER anyway !! And others will reach out to those in their life buried in their own pits of despair of depression & love & pray for them ! We are never called to suffer in silence !

Not everyone is healed. We don’t know why. Paul was not healed of the thorn, no matter how he begged. Joni Eareckson Tada has been prayed for, & over, probably more than anyone over her lifetime. Even brought to the pool of .Bethesda. What an incredible miracle for the world to see, _if_ He healed her! One of God’s many mysteries. Joni is an incredible testimony ‘as is’, however. And she knows that. She’s now even said, she wouldn’t choose to be healed, b/c she knows her life would have never have been what it is today, if she was. She is _unbelievable._ And will walk again, in a perfected body, one _glorious_ day, holding hands w/Jesus.♥✝🙌 We are not to question, but praise & worship Him regardless. I hope you are somewhat better now. I will lift you up in prayer.🙏

This is not meant with any disrespect but I think her situation highlights this issue of Christians being so good at masking pain. Yes, she was transparent about her struggles but the smiling and cheerfulness doesn’t show the real story. As a Christian, we believe we are to ‘declare healing into existence’. I think she wanted so badly to be healed that she (unintentionally) minimized the grip her depression and anxiety had over her. Yes, we should be hopeful and trust for healing but it’s still important to deal with the reality of the situation as it’s happening.
