Yeah, i had that one too. I believe it was called the ultimate pokemon guide book. Those books were chocked full of errors, then again they werewritten by adults whose knowledge of pokemon probably came from their children😅.

@@myheartismadeofstars not really, Arbok and Seviper are two different kinds of snakes, they don’t even look similar. But luvdisc and alomomola do look similar enough that it could honestly be an evolution

To me Sevipers colouring looks like Arbok's pattern took over it's whole body. you can argue that Seviper losing the hood makes no sense, but honestly I have seen pokemon make some odd choices for middle stages which makes them look very strange compared to the first and last stages. And I could see arbok using it's hood and markings to imitate Seviper

Mistakes you missed: Torchic has Tentacool’s moves In Mightyena’s moves, Howl is listed twice Milotic’s move Water Gun is misspelled as “Water Fun” Masquerain has a move called “Bubble Quick” Altaria has a move called “Peck Growl” Bubble Quick is a combination of Bubble and Quick Attack and Peck Growl is Peck and Growl respectively Luvdisc’s category is spelled “Rendevous” instead of Rendezvous Salamence’s category is the “Blaze Pokémon”

I have a Super Deloxe essential handbook that has 3 mistakes, but are very embarrasing 1. It says the cosplay Pikachu's are in Kanto, but they're only in the Kalos games. 2. It says Foongus is 1.2m tall. 3. It only lists 3 moves in Volcanion's moveset.

I had a book like that but except it was for Kanto, for some odd reason I was obsessed with Hitmonlee as a kid and when I opened the book to find Hitmonlee's page I almost cried when I saw that "Hitmonlee evolved into Hitmonchan", and when I got my first Hitmonlee in the games I was terrified of using it because I didn't want it to evolve into a Hitmonchan.

Hey I remember that. Used to have one of those. I loved reading it as a kid in my spare time when I would not be allowed to play video games because I exceeded the daily allowed time haha. I didn't know much about Pokémon back then so I didn't question anything the handbook said. So when one of the pokemon that was said to not have an evolution (can't remember which one) evolved, I thought it was a super rare thing that only happened to me and went to show my rare one-of-a-kind Pokémon to my friends lol.

It doesnt. The amount of frames the game has been open influences the RNG of pokemon. Speedrunners actually wait for a specific time on the title screen or something like that to influence thair starzer having the best IVs and nature possible. And the actual reason of Wurmples evolution is the hidden personality value of the pokemon

I had that exact handbook, and it confused me SO MUCH as a kid, I never figured out how to get Shedinja, and only when I was older and the info was way easier to find on the internet did I learn how it worked. One other massive mistake was at the start of the book it mentions that not all previous pokemon would be available in the games ("they'll be taking it break!" as it was roughly phrased on those pages), but this wasn't actually true as you could unlock the national dex, this wasn't like the whole dexit thing we have now where new generations genuinely are missing compatibility as well as access to specific pokemon, but the handbook doesn't mention the national dex at all!
