Imma leave this here in case anyone wants a Roserade, Togekiss, Gallade, Mismagius or Honchkrow before the second gym. Tip: Catch 6 Pachirisu’s from the under ground with the pick up ability. I think they have to be over level 11, then battle with one of them until you get a Dawn, Dusk, and Shiny stone. They are surprisingly easy to get if you are battling at an early route. Edit: added Mismagius to the list

I swear BDSP is playing with my feelings even when I haven't bought the game yet. At first I thought about using Togekiss but Cynthia doesn't give Togepi egg so I switched to wanting Honchkrow. Then I thought underground can provide me with a Togepi BUT my shallow research tells me that I can only find Togepi after I get national dex, I can only give up. HOWEVER! it was not true, I can get Togepi, its just rare, my dream came alive again ONLY to have a sudden realization that my planned team has both Togekiss and Roserade so I would need two shiny stone to evolve them and there was only one shiny stone in the main game while the other has to wait until post game, I couldn't choose which one to prioritize. By the time I learnt about the Pachirisu pick up method, I'm having second thoughts again: 1. Togepi is a rare encounter plus, I will definitely catch multiple to get the nature I want and that may take quite a while, will I have the patience for it? 2. Togekiss is part fairy which is good against Spiritomb and Garchomp but that's it. Roserade can learn dazzling gleam and I can use an ice type for Garchomp so Togekiss might not be as essential as I thought. Plus Garchomp definitely will have weakness coverage moves that can counter Togekiss. 3. I have nothing against Honchkrow. Dark/flying will be very useful against Lucian, I can get one with a jolly nature so the lackluster defences can be ignored. The more I think about it, the more tempting it is. Conclusion: I love to torture myself with planning hahaha

Around 10:51 on the "Serebii had a mistake"... it's not a mistake, it's a "separated by a common language" thing. It varies even within countries, but some places (such as the UK, where Serebii lives) count the bottom floor as Ground, the one above is First, then Second, etc, while in other places (like where you are, the US) counts the bottom floor as First, the one above is Second, then Third, etc... Serebii noted what you were looking for as being what he would call the Second floor and what you would call the Third, but it's the same floor and technically correct.

While I'll agree that Budew is awful to evolve i've been finding it useful for selecting Pokémon with good abilities. Use worry seed and it will tell you what ability it has before it changes to insomnia. And I feel you on the bad nature of the glisor. My starter Chimchar had a TIMID nature!! Ugh!

Warning you real quick: The difficulty of this game has gone from somewhat challenging, to difficult as crap! The Gym Leaders now have hold items, and so does the Elite Four. Roark is the only Gym Leader to not use any hold items in his Gym battle. Edit: You and PokeMEN should totally do a challenge with this game.

I have spent hours in the underground mining then I found out the old dude teaches you everything through challenges. I still haven’t looked at all the caves but it’s my current fave place to waste time and train my Pokémon. I kept running into level 27 - 29 with only level 22 pokemon

Mikey getting caught up in the Grand Underground is so relatable, I spent a couple hours there when I first got access and got completely sidetracked. ps - Michael if you see this, you need to go back up and the Ungerground Man will give you the drill for your Secret Base and you can place the statues. Serebii also has a couple things wrong about the Underground, it seems that you don’t have to complete the story/nat dex for some spawns and items and it actually depends on the statues in your base, amount of things dug up, whether you’re online, and diglets you run into. Also the Murkrow only spawn up top at night which is why you didn’t see them! They’re also part of the the reason I raced underground because I’m going to use a Honchcrow in my playthrough lol. I feel that pain as I've been soft resetting the game since release trying to get the right nature for my Chimchar (took me about two days and ended up with a Hasty nature with 'Alert to sounds!' characteristic). Truly is the most frustrating aspect of Pokémon games besides shiny hunting of course.
