In this video it´s me performing a traditional Scandinavian polska on mandolin and guitar. This is Polska after Juringius, Sweden. I play a Phoenix Neo Bluegrass mandolin and a Collings OM2H guitar. This is a series of videos that I see as an introduction to Nordic folk music played on mandolin and guitar.

Very nice! I'm a guitar player who is wondering if your 'Nordic Folk Mandolin" book has the guitar chords notated? On this particular tune, the guitar is so far back in the mix, I'm having trouble hearing it clearly. I'd love to buy it to learn with my mandolin friends, if you provide the guitar chords. Thanks!

Hi, the book has a basic chord notation to it. You would be able to get it out of that I think. I put a capo to fret 2 in this take. Give it a try!

I love this polska from Kalmar :) Depending on who plays it some accents are a bit different.. is that why sometimes it's called polska and some others slängpolska? Keep up the awesome work!

Yes, I play it more like a Slängpolska. Very even over the 3 beats in each measure.

@@MandolinSecrets I think it would be very interesting to hear more about Scandinavian folk music accents on plucked instruments. What I could find out there is mostly for bowed instruments. :)

Yes, a lot of the phrasing of course comes from bowing technique of fiddle and nyckelharpa. I talk about legato playing and things like that in my tutorials and in the e-book. It´s fun to play around with!
