My wife and I lost our only son at the age of 19. Always a joy to be around and a heart of golden embers to everyone he met. Today I relish those memories and lessons learned. I often am saddened by his absence but uplifted by the life of caring, love and concern that he modeled for us. Wisdom and God's direction isn't dictated by age but our readiness and willingness to do his will here on earth. Taylor your life was a testament to just how much you live on in the hearts of many. Watchhouse/Mandolin Orange thank you for reminding me of this every time I listen to this song.

Been a fan of mandolin orange for about 4 years now. None of my friends understand how powerful and amazing their music is. Bought two tickets to a show in buffalo in 2019, no one would come because they wouldn't believe me when I said it will be amazing. Lost out on the $70 for the one ticket then I drove 3 and a half hours there and back to buffalo on a Sunday night and watched the show by MYSELF. I've been to alot of concerts in my life and this one was my top by far. Mandolin Orange is amazing all around, they can seriously turn my day around in 1 song.

I saw them on 1/23/2020 in Austin. Earlier in the day, I had my 2nd round of chemo. When I bought 2 tickets several months before, I didn't know I had breast cancer. I wasn't sure I would be able to go, so didn't invite anyone. At the last minute, I decided to try and make it. So glad I did. I gave my extra ticket away to someone in the ticket line. I had to sit down throughout the show, but it was so worth it to go. I have loved their music for years. I was not only going through chemo, but a bunch of other stuff, too. Their music is powerful.

Her legacy will thrive through me and my two kids, her grandchildren. She was an amazing person who lived life with a wild abandonment when she painted when she danced or sang. Please take heart my brother. !!! If you’ve read the Lords Prayer, you will remember where it says ‘thy Kingdom come’ thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.. this Kingdom is VERY real and is a government .. God has not forgotten his original purpose for the earth or his purpose for mankind.. when Jesus was here on earth he preached and taught all he could come across about God and His Kingdom.. his miracles he performed was a prélude of what was to come at a future time .. we are in the last days that the Bible talks of .. there will be a resurrection after the coming Great War of Armageddon … the issue of whose ‘right’ to rule will be settled once and for all time thruout eternity … Jehovah God will be vindicated at this time forever.. the conditions under this kingdom will be like no other in mans history … read Isaiah chapter 65… Rev. 2: 3,4 talks about death being gone n pain will be no more, the former things will be gone away.. I do hope this gives a new outlook for you , it does me and many of my friends … feel free to reply if you like .. we must have something solid these days just to get thru the days now…

I am just listening to this for the first time this morning. I lost my mother to lung cancer on Xmas Eve. I laid beside her and comforted her as she took her last breaths. The Cadillac gave her a ride shortly after as well. I went through a month as we waited for my stepfather own battle with cancer to also meet the end of his journey....I don't know if you guys understand how deeply this song hit me, and seeing the date it was released and posted here lines up with the final days of any real sound interaction before my mother's rapid decline and shutting in. Golden embers hits me too, her and I allways had our tradition of taking all the wrapping paper and boxes from Xmas and having a little bonfire, enjoying the brisk holiday night watching the tiny golden embers lift up and float away into the night. Not to mention correlations of being burned and the long battle with chemo and radiation. Blah blah blah I could go on and on at all this amazing song has stirred in me. It is absolutely beautiful. Thank you, so, so very much for this.

Lennie McKim Tonight This evening was exceptional for many reasons: THIS... my first ever introduction to Mandolin Orange!! Had it not been for my brother suggesting this musical encouragement to help me through some difficult news of today, I may never have experienced such beautiful instrumentation nor lyrics.. At nearly 77 years of age, I'm somewhat embarrassed for my lack of music knowledge! I always enjoyed music, however, little of today's "noise" resonates with me due to 58 years of deafness (another deep-in-my-soul reason "Golden Embers" affected me as it did). BlueTooth helps immensely, especially when the closed captions are sorely lacking. Although sad and heart-wrenching, "Golden Embers" soothed me through this evening. What I was able to hear was pure delight and felt within my very soul. I owe appreciation to my brother for suggesting posts in which the viewers included the lyrics; these, I will remember. My sincere Thank you to Pablo Pasati and Wyld Heart for graciously posting the lyrics to this lovely song. It meant everything!

This is a song that I showed and listened to with my sister. She loved it as she didn’t like county or “folk” as she thought… I kind of got a bit annoyed she would play it considering she denounced folk/country. She was hit walking home in September and killed died right there in the Street. I never got to say Goodbye but this song is what brings me almost the closest to what I will feel when I was with her drinking and listening to this song on those nights. And the amount of Sorrow this song now truly brings. I love You Sreeah; Always and Forever, Shine on my baby girl like burning embers in the night.

This Song is a Spiritual Support Group for the Hurting SOULS who have lost a beautiful LOVE in a cold and chaotic world. The words and music remind me of my SWEET and Beautiful Aunt Gena, who was an angelic country music vocalist,a fantastic mama and a loving wife. She went to Hallelujah Square to be with the LORD on this day, 20 years ago. It's hard to believe that our family has made it so many steps, one before the other for so very days and months and years on Earth void of her sweet company and thoughtful light . But that's just how it is. One DAY at a TIME SWEET JESUS, until Time is just a memory surrounded by new music that we write and sing about it with her ❤️. What a JOY it is to have been BLESSED with the GIFT of such a unique and AWESOME LIFE that shaped who I am today. The Songs DO remember WHEN. The music does remind us WHO. And the brightness of those glowing embers of rememberance shine our WAY to WHERE we will all harmonize together again.

My wife and I lost her Dad last Christmas Eve 2019. I loved my father in law so much. He was smart, artistic, and always ready for adventure. He was 66, laughed hard at a joke, turned blue and just died at the dinner table all of a sudden. That was that. He'd battled two abdominal aneurysms and several invasive surgeries over the past decade, so his health wasn't great. The paramedics all looked at our family like they somehow failed at their job, even though Ronny was gone before we could pick up a phone. They arrived in less than five minutes, despite being a rural volunteer outfit on Christmas Eve. In lieu of flowers, Ronny's deep wealth of friends all donated to the local first responders unit. At least 100 people stood outside on the rawest New England winter morning with freezing rain pelting them for his two hour Roman Catholic service, because the church was already full. I've been to a few funerals in my life, and Ronny sure as shit was the guy to draw a sold out crowd under the worst weather possible. He would have loved it. I stumbled across this song a few days ago and my wife and I shared a few tears together. Thank you for such an elegant and artful expression of grief that helped my wife and I immensely. This song is steeped in timeless wisdom. Thank you.

Thank you for saying this. Going through something similar perhaps with each of my two daughters. It's so very hard. I wish you comfort and peace. Oh and Mandolin Orange, you two make beautiful, powerful music together that evokes strong feelings about the most important things in life. Thank you.

I heard you play this last night at the Ford for the first time. There aren't many songs that get close to capturing the feeling of losing our son, but this rings true for me. The grief receded years ago only to be replaced by thoughts of "what might have been." I take comfort in these bittersweet reminders, they remind me he is not forgotten. Thank you.

I miss the old hymns That she used to sing. The sparrows spread their mortal wings. And they they've all lighted With the silence of strings. Like notes on the pages She breathed life into all things... Some of the finest lyrics ever penned....

In memory of my beloved Mother Just like an old friend, kinder than expected That Cadillac came and gave our girl a ride Loss has no end, it binds to our connection We don't speak of it, we don't even try If you could help me to share the trouble that you've got burning in you, then you can help me, and in our time together, her memory will ever Shine like golden embers in the night I miss the old hymns when she used to sing The sparrows spread their mortal wings Now they've all lighted with the silence of strings Like notes on the pages, she breathed life into all things If you could help me to share the trouble that you've got burning in you, then you can help me, and in our time together, her memory will ever Shine like golden embers in the night Just like an old friend, reach out to me Bathe me in the light of understanding Try to help me to share the trouble that you've got burning in you, then you can help me, and in our time together, her memory will ever Shine like golden embers in the night

This song reached out and touched me to the core. I heard this a few months after losing my mother. I had to pull over as each phrase rang true with my emotions. I replayed it and let everything go as it hit home. Shortly after discovering this song, i had 3 of my siblings in the truck on a roadtrip and we listened to it together. Tears flowed and we all connected with the song and each other. This song has real power, thanks for putting this out in the world!

Such a pitty so few people enjoy that powerful music from where i come (austria)I am starting to spread those tunes amognst my friends and family. And i dont know how it works but when listenin to them it feels like they always ve been a part of you...like coming back to that old house where you grew up, laying on granpas tattered couch, drifting slowly to sleep while listening to all the familiar voices talking laughing and singing.
