The tension in the extended outro to resolve is stunning sonic tightrope that the band walks.

Seals and Crofts did a tune called It's Gonna come down on you on the Diamond Girl albbum of the early 70's. Would love to hear a cover with violin and mandolin, these folks would nail that song, serene and beautiful.

[This is my best effort. A couple words I can't pick out] Head was hung low, And your sound was much older, But as records spin, time tiptoes by, Bones on a thread fall from your shoulders, Stitchin' the seam 'tween the earth the sky. You're wearin' the soul of a coal miners' daughter, Down in a hole, singin' your song. Or kickin' the will(?) back in some holler, Patchin' up holes in the settin' sun. Chorus: We are the ones that hang by the needle, Stuck in a groove, cut by your hand. Wrapped in a cloak, safe in the shadow, Of Calvary's Arc cast o'er the land. Cracks in the sound, And the hiss of the silence, The kiss of Death and the palest blue, The seventh horse that rode forth to warn us, Of Morphine Girl and the Sword of Truth (chorus) There's a poetic conceit going, with a record playing in the background, giving a double meaning to words like "needle" and "groove." "Cracks in the sound and the hiss of the silence" refers to a record playing as well. Also some possible religious/biblical references: "Calvary's Ark," is new to me, but I'm almost sure that's the lyric, and it looks like it has meaning in Christianity. There are only four horses in the book of Revelation, but one of them carries Death. There are seven seals, though, and the seventh is "silence in heaven." *These could also be fiction references. "The Sword of Truth" is a fantasy series by Terry Goodkind, and "The Seventh Horse" is a story collection from Leonora Carrington.

"Coal Miner's Daughter" refers to the Loretta Lynn film, quite likely.

Man...Emily's voice is that of an angel. Any song she is lead vocals on is amazing. Andrew has that way of telling a story with his. Together...well let's just say both of you guys are lucky to have met one another. Please keep dropping fire like this one. Oh, and bring the old name back. 😊

eu amo tanto uma pessoa , essa musica é o estilo que os dois gostam de ouvir quando estão juntos, hoje estamos separados pela maldade do destino e pelas peças que ele nos prega, ouvir essa musica é a unica forma que consigo me aproximar dele

"I'm the keeper of nothing, but an old flame"...sometimes those flames are the only thing to keep us warm in a cold, careless world. Careless to our wants and desires sometimes we can feel so small trying to work against the tides of fate and destiny, can't we?

Just like an old friend Kinder than expected That Cadillac came and gave our girl a ride Loss has no end It binds to our connection And we don't speak of it, we don't even try If you could help me to share the trouble that you've got burning in you, then you can help me And in our time together Her memory will ever shine like golden embers in the night I miss the old hymns when she used to sing The sparrows spread their mortal wings Now they've all lighted with the silence of strings Like notes on the pages, she breathed life into all things If you could help me to share the trouble that you've got burning in you, then you can help me And in our time together Her memory will ever shine like golden embers in the night Just like an old friend Reach out to me Bathe me in the light of understanding And try to help me to share the trouble that you've got burning in you, then you can help me And in our time together Her memory will ever shine like golden embers in the night Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Andrew Marlin

Kenneth we are from Charlotte , my baby sister died with brain tumor at 42 , taking that next step into the unknown is frightening but we all will face it once our bodies wear out and are used up, then our souls are our vehicles ! Pray to JESUS ! GOD said no one enters heaven without knowing his son JESUS first ! We may not talk to him today but someday we all will talk to him and will be judged ! AMEN .
