It will be the fire regulations. These buildings only have one in and one out and the out is normally on the opposite side of the station causing you to effectively cross the track if there was a fire. Thats why all the rides and theme parks now have massive loading queues inside but wont fill them. Like SAW and 13

I feel like mandrill mayhem is a great ride, but really not a good fit for chessington. They've struggled for years with long queues as they have so many low capacity rides, and this is only going to add to that problem sadly. So many new people are gonna be drawn in by this, which will just extend queues everywhere in the park. Something like an intamin straddle coaster would have been better imo.

You could look at the flip side of that though and say the more rides a park has the more it will disperse the cues, yes this and maybe next season will be a nightmare but as it settles in over time and people aren't just going on it because its new I doubt it will be a problem at all. Also as Chessington is a family park, not everyone will want to go on roller-coaster with inversions

Just made a similar comment myself. Yeah it's pretty awful especially for a park that doesn't really have a queue eater. Let's hope the virtual queue system works well. Probably be limited to one / two rides a day most likely too given how quickly it's likely to fill up.

I am no longer in any doubt that they are trying to force people to get fastrack. Not only did they go for another low capacity ride but the loading procedure looks an absolute shambles. Be lucky to get 400 RPH looking at that as it is now.

The bridge is there on mandrill Mayhem is there because in the second film that was a level of the game Jumanji where they had to cross moving bridges to escape mandrills. The drums in the station are they because in the film when they where about to start a new level they would play. The cobra in the market was a scene from the first film The path I shaped from the original board game. This area is extremely good but if you didn’t watch the films people wouldn’t be able to understand most of it

The coaster is brilliant, i was lucky enough to get both a forward and backward facing go today and it was amazing. The flats were struggling with issues again today during the MAP preview, I completely understand they are new rides and its all a learning curve and was happy to wait but some other people were being rather rude in the que line about how bad it was that the rides were not working properly.

I did this today for the first time, about 10 rides in 50 mins of early ride time! In the end I didn’t have to keep queuing I could just get up and move seats 😂 thankfully I managed to try front left, front right, back left, back right, then the very back ‘other way round’ left and right too!! With a couple of in the middle goes. Love off peak days!! 🎉🎉

Going to check this out at the start of July! Looks like a great addition to the park, was much needed. I haven’t visited Chessington since just after Croc Drop opened as I just felt it wasn’t quite hitting the mark anymore, but I’m glad to see they’ve really thought about what was needed to update and improve the park! Let’s hope Alton Towers take notes and also open up some new permanent flat rides eventually as well as Project Horizon 😅

I think that with this ride the fact that you can quite different experience with alternate seating, makes it more interesting. I prefer not to offer a opinion about loading, after all, this is not even the official opening day! Yeah, in regards to the loading procedures. I think about the Intamin impulse coasters launching at 65-75mph through the station with smaller air gates with no issue. Hopefully that is just a temporary measure! Overall though, looks fantastic and the area is amazing.

Exactly - if you can wait behind the gates of Stealth, Rita etc this procedure for Mandrill Mayhem seems rather overkill. Mind you, Chessington has always had odd operating procedures.

Any new coaster addition to Chessington is great in my opinion, and they needed something with inversions and abit more on the family thrill side, i hear peoples issues with the cues etc but in my mind the more rides a park has the better in terms of that, just maybe the first few seasons might take some time to iron out that issue. On the plus side, it might meen vampire and dragons furys cues arent so long, being the other 2 main coasters
