Without spoiling too much, after some very troubling scenes Nic Cage randomly sits down in front of the TV and the cheddar goblin commercial plays, and at first it's hilarious and random, a moment of almost relief from the oppressing atmosphere of the previous scenes, but as it goes on, it is twisted and uncanny enough to feel uncomfortable, and in context it's unnatural almost like a mockery of normalcy. As the movie events transpire, where so much is fucked up that even a food commercial can be colored by trauma with hints that everything is not ok. Clever but daring scene that could have backfired depending on who's watching, but also very meme-able.

This movie being paired with psychedelics makes about as much sense as things like listening to Tool on psychedelics. It’s basically the equivalent of a spiritual/psychological weapon. Don’t do it, unless your yearning for a demonic nightmare that will probably permanently damage your psyche.. People who throw these ideas around do not understand the true nature of psychedelics, the importance of set and setting, dark and light spirituality, the vulnerability of the mind and subconscious etc. To be frank, they most likely have a naive understanding of the world and life in general. Media like this being suggested as a psychedelic companion is a concept I see repeated often and honestly I question the intentions of those who originate such memes. ✌🏼

When I first saw this movie with my siblings I thought to myself that I wish I hadn’t seen it. Drugs really scare me, from my perspective a looney drug addict looks human, but they don’t act human, they resemble walking corpses more than a walk of life like me that has thoughts and feelings. Crackheads are unreadable to me, I can’t tell what they’re about to do based on body language, there probably isn’t much going inside a crackhead’s mind, but I can’t help but feel disturbed whenever I see one

The beginning if this movie is REALLY REALLY BAD. Like holy fuck. The director and writers tried soooooooooo hard. It just got old and annoying super fast. Felt like it took 40 minutes just to start. Honestly not a great film. But anything with nicolas cage is honestly really bland and every film hes in past 2018 feels like they try way too hard.
