I broke up with my boyfriend when I was 15 and he was 18 because he joined the Marines and I didn’t want to do a long distance relationship while I was that young. Three years later I was 18 and we started dating again. I could tell he never really understood why I broke up with him. His sister was 15 at the time so I said “How would you feel if a marine was dating your sister?” It all clicked for him 😂 We’ve been happily married for ten years now. EDIT: A lot of people are commenting about the age gap and I agree it is a little weird at that age. We weren’t technically dating because my parents wouldn’t let me date until I was 16 but we were into each other. We really just talked and hung out. Also we grew up together if that makes a difference. Neither of those things felt relevant to the story so I didn’t initially share them.

I had a guy do this to me. I was 19 and met a guy that looked older for his age. Before telling him my age he said he was 20 so I’m like oh cool. Well I noticed he was hard to get a hold of during the week but he told me that he worked a construction job so he can’t be on his phone. Makes sense. A month goes by (we haven’t done anything not even kiss) I get a message from his number but it’s not him. It’s his MOTHER telling me he’s 17. I told her everything and was like you can’t be mad at me he lied about his age. Never spoke to them again. Granted in TX I wouldn’t have gotten in trouble if they tried as 17 is legal BUT if I knew is real age I would have never!!!! Once I found out I stopped all contact.

I LOVE Connie, but I ~do~ think it's important to acknowledge that even beloved characters can be flawed & make mistakes. This was one HUGE mistake on her end. While it was not her job to tell Mandy that Georgie was 17, it WAS her right. Mandy was manipulated into committing a crime! Involving YOUR grandson! & just on the basis of being a fellow woman, if you see an adult who you know is unaware they're being lied to & dating a TEENAGER, telling them could prevent a lot of trauma, mistakes, & lies on both ends! I think Connie more than made up for it, though. She definitely stepped up not only as a grandmother for Ceecee but also as a maternal figure & friend for Mandy. She's a very good person, & I think her actions from this point forward are more than reasonable.

As someone who’s not a predator, it feels absolutely disgusting to realize you’ve been doing something sexual with a minor. I was in a discord chat at 19 where someone admitted they’d lied about their age and I felt so fucking disgusting and violated. Or my neighbor’s 20 y/o son was in a consensual relationship with a girl who was 17 and lied to say she was 18, and the girl’s MOM took him to court over it, against her daughter’s wishes, because mom hated the BF for not marrying her high schooler. My neighbor’s son got put on a sex offender registry and couldn’t even talk to his own siblings because of it.
