My sisters Lisa, Michelle and myself first met Mandy in November of 1985, after a concert in Toronto. We couldn't afford the show, and he kindly arranged for us to see his show the next day. He had me help lift Michelle (she was disabled) on the stage afterwards and sang Sondheim's "Children Will Listen" to her. We saw him a few times after that and I wish I could tell him that Michelle's now gone. I'll never forget his incredible generosity!!!!

Thanks so much for your generosity in Durham ! Letting an 89 year old great Grandmom come in at mid-night , in your meet and great , to get a hug from you , on her birthday, wow ! How many performers would bother with that ?! It was at the top of my bucket list ! Bless you ! #89

Mandy Patinkin elevates his entire profession. I find myself hesitant to say he is an actor or entertainer because of the flotsam out there. Insightful and humble, why can't more in the industry be like him.

l'm so glad l got to see it in the theaters, and now l own the DVD :) He sound like an awesome person, and he's a wonderful actor too. They really did do the sword fighting themselves, which made the movie even more amazing.

Just dawned on me that he played Jason Gideon on Criminal Minds and I knew him as Inigo Montoya and both are my faves....WOW...I remember watching this movie as a kid and as a adult The Princess Bride is still my fave. My daughter even loves it.

"I live 99% of my life in an imagined reality." Wow, that resonates. I feel like there are so many people who could describe themselves that way, but would never think to express it that way.

And no wonder this movie is loved by everyone! Because everyone is trying to find their own true love. This movie will last forever. Thanks, Mandy (and Robb and the rest of the totally amazing cast!!!).

My 14 yr old asked, “Why is Inigo speaking with an American accent?!?!?” 😂❤ She was so bewildered. That’s how deep it goes for us.

Mandy does an incredible, over the top version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". First heard it on Letterman many years ago. Maybe it's on KZbin?

BACKSTORY, anyone? The author of the BOOK, Wm. Goldman is a TRAGIC figure. His own childhood was a DISASTER. (he'll say so). THIS story was his ESCAPE from childhood, the one he TRULY wanted. THERE's the story about the story. Mandy P. is an affirmation of Goldman's DREAM~fantasy.
@cathygould Жыл бұрын
Thank you, yes! I'd read Goldman's books all my life, and learned about his life, too.
