Thank you so much for your tips, I loved your favorite position bc it is so important to have a resting position. Other than being in the water, which gave me the most relaxation during labor, the birth ball ideally started me off on what I believe was a great start during early labor before getting into the birth pool. I highly recommend this ball to all my pregnant friends and not just for labor but for around 7 months onward, I tell them to get rid of any chairs they normally sit on and only sit on a birth ball until labor day, that way the hips stay open and relaxed! Thank you again! This was great information!

So true!! As a pelvic health physiotherapist working with moms I highly recommend the birthing ball to all my pregnant clients too. Also great postpartum to bounce baby in the sitting position as opposed to constantly standing - better for the pelvic floor to recover especially in the first few weeks postpartum!

I was taking online classes from 9 - 5 so I was having to sit for long periods at a time. kzbin.infoUgkxEhgucmXpcAGYh8fatGFEnOK2V97VIwhG After the first day in a regular table chair, I thought about an exercise ball and ordered one that night. It came the next day! My hips, legs, back and butt couldn't have been happier! I'm almost 5'11" and I ordered the largest size and it was perfect for me. I also have RLS (restless legs) and this helped so much.Pumping it up was a little challenging and definitely gives you a good arm workout, (I'm a 62 yo woman) but it's very doable. Getting the tape centered with the hole to inflate it and then getting the pin back in was also a little tricky. But I love my new "chair" and I love the torquiose color. Hopefully it will also get used for exercise. 😁

I'm praying I get a nurse like you when I deliver next month! How awesome it would be to have a nurse who would care so much about helping me and not just showing up to do her time on the clock.

If I were to ever give birth, I would *MOVE* if it assured that I could have you as my L and D nurse!! You clearly love your job and helping mama's deliver safely, as comfortably as possible, and *naturally*! The Western culture doesn't understand the empowerment and benefits of a natural labor and delivery. Nor the potential risks and ramifications of medicated births and unnecessary interventions- to the point of unnecessary, elective C-sections. Thank you for being out there and supporting these Mamas through the craziest journeys of their lives! *YOU* are a breath of fresh air, may God richly bless you!

The throne position was a life saver for me with my epidural! I just sat like that for an hour and let my body do most of the work. Made active pushing much easier.

Thank you so much for this wealth of information! I'm 23 weeks pregnant with my first baby and plan to have a natural birth. Labor is scary and exciting, I've heard so many women tell me about how long their labor took and I worry that I won't have the determination to stay un-medicated throughout. Most of the women I spoke to weren't active and chose an epidural, from what I read, that makes labor last longer. I started prenatal yoga at the beginning of my second trimester and plan to continue walking, yoga, and birth ball exercises until it's time for my baby boy to make his grand appearance. I hope I have such a dedicated, passionate nurse like you when it's time for me to deliver!

I sat on a yoga ball at work throughout my whole pregnancy. When I had my 40 week appointment, I was at a 4 with no contractions! This was also my first pregnancy and I attribute the progress to sitting on a ball the whole pregnancy! Opened me up!

Prepping for my induction Friday and I can't thank you enough for this video! I HATED the peanut with my first labor, it just didn't work out for my body at the time. But the yoga ball has been helping so much at home, and I imagine will continue to be the rest of this week. I showed my hubby the squatting push position, too. Hoping to stay off my back for pushing!

I delivered a baby on Saturday at my birth center. When the mom first arrived, I gave her a birth ball and she had no idea how to use it. They have become such a common part of our practice as midwives, doulas and nurses that I didn’t consider people wouldn’t be familiar with how to use them still! So, I’m actually working on my video for my clients now too, lol. Good job mentioning the water!! Most mamas and even nurses and doulas don’t consider that option and I’ve seen it be a tremendous help in the shower for lower back pain in labor!

Okey, I have to ask: I can see the comment about not using ordinary chairs during the last months of the pregnancy, and don't use recliners. But as I'm currently in week 32 I'm experiencing a lot of swelling of the feet and therefore is recommended to put my feet up as often as I can. It's kind of hard keeping your feet up and sitting at a ball at the same time... any ideas of what I can do to help both of these things?
