I have struggled for 55-60 yrs with eye shadow. Watched every video there is!!! For years!! (Sharon Shneyer), I'm almost 64 and have a problem that most people my age don't have, extremely oily eyelids (oily skin too). Perhaps I am lucky never having to have wrinkles. I have had oily eyelids my whole life; the oil drips from my forehead down to my eyes, few products that I have tried make a difference in how long my eye shadow stays on. I am still masking, but I would like to wear eye shadow.

Ladies, do you remember the tri-color cream eye shadow stacked pots that screwed together in the 70s? And the Kohl pencils? Who made them? Was it Coty pots? It's driving me nuts and the Web has no idea. Imagine that.

Since 2020, I have watched hundreds of hours makeup video and watched or read dozens of “beginner” tutorials and none of them gave me as clear and helpful direction on how to apply pigment outer-V as you did in this one. I tried it today and it worked splendidly. You may have revolutionized my makeup routine.

What I like about you and this tutorial, you are just enhancing your true beauty, The look is not overly done with the huge fake brows and lashes. It is a real, duplicatable look, great ideas for all women, it brings out your own beauty and I plan on trying the look soon. I cannot wait! Thank you!

Exactly. ....all the fake lashes, the deep pigments, the crazy long fake nails, the fake injected lips....it's a bit too much for my real, unfilled, naturally ugly face lol....If I follow every step, the finished look is that of a circus clown. This lady keeps it real. 😊

Tutorials feel like a lost art in current makeup KZbin and I am glad you did this! Everyone brings a slightly different approach to even a very similar look (this look is very similar to my bread and butter format but with some tiny changes that I plan to try) and that is why it's valuable to watch multiple takes on what seems to be the same look. I sent this to my mom. 🙂 She hasn't spent as much time learning techniques as I have and this seems like a good video for her especially.

Aha! Since i subscribed a couple of months ago, i have wondered how you manage the difficult balance of deepening just enough to make the browbone recede without darkening too much the already shadowed socket in eyes like ours (our eyes are deep set in the same way). I could tell you have quite a disciplined technique unlike, um, me. Every time i do my eyeshadow, I say " Today, I will use restraint because my deep set eyes look their best with minimal shadows, just pencil eyeliner on the bottom lashline as i did for many years with success." We already have the dimension built in and don't get a lot of added benefit from adding more with shadow...sometimes the very opposite ! But my plan rarely works out that way. I want to revel in my eyeshadows and showcase the pigments, and that makes me add more than flatters my eyeshape. Plus, blending is a chore, and not a super easy one ! This video is very timely for me.

I'm 42 and learning how to apply makeup for the first time! I've worn a little here and there but never was super confident that I know what I'm doing lol.. I decided I wanted to learn so I can teach my little girl when it's time. I was kind of a tom- boy lol. So I love your tutorials they really are so helpful!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge I really appreciate having the opportunity to finally learn from people who are confident in their abilities when it comes to applying makeup!! That's what makes wifi connectivity so invaluable and so is this platform for that matter, it really is such an amazing tool!! So I don't want to wear anything too much for daily wear.. anything more than simple is probably too much for me.. so my question is about eye makeup color. I wear a lot of Grey's and blacks and so would rather not wear browns and tans sometimes but im not sure what i should wear as a color combination to go with blacks and greys. Should i use white or a range of whites as a base? And I don't want anything as dark as black as the deep tone on the outer sides of my lids so a range of Grey's I guess? The thing is that I don't want to go too dark because it's harder to blend.. is what I understand- maybe once I'm more experienced lol! then what about the last color like a silvery sparkle maybe I'm not even sure how it goes I'd have to listen again- for the fourth time to know how many different colors I need lol im such a novice!! Lol I guess my point is that everyone seems to use tans and browns and so ive not seen many, if any examples with a color combination I would want to use on myself... what do you recommend?? Or does anyone else have any ideas Im so lost !! Thx so much!!
